@mr.x Thank you very much! I didn't mention this, but this website is set up so that all of the submissions are moderated to curb potential abuse. A lot of features that this software has was also removed such as comments for that same reason. I will be actively watching for submissions though. I'll see every single one :)

Newly opened Burst FAQ Website needs content!posted in Burst Projects & Crowdfundings
Hello all!
I have just finished putting together the bones of a FAQ website for the Burst community at BurstFAQ.com I see so many people giving to this great community, and I thought a website like this was direly needed.
Are you tired of answering the same questions over and over on the forum? Just paste a link to the FAQ!
Do you find it impossible to sometimes find specific information on a topic buried deep in threads? Search the FAQs for a specific answer.Hopefully this website will solve these problems. However, I'm always short on time, as I'm sure everyone else is too! What I'm hoping is that people can help with this website by submitted FAQ entries via the form on the site. You can also include pictures, and there is a WYSIWYG editor to help format your entry. Here are things that would help:
- Submit complete FAQ here.
- Submit a question you want answered here.
- Submit definitions for glossary terms here. (And click here to see the glossary)
- Submit corrections for any entry here. Be sure to reference the URL of the FAQ you think should be changed!
- Answer existing questions here.
Also, for those of you that submit a FAQ, I will add your burst address to the post for donations to thank you for writing the answer. So just add that along with your submission! Use whatever name you want to be identified as, I will not share your email address. If you don't want your name to be shared as well, I can do that too.
Many thanks to LithStud for helping me with the CSS! It's been almost 2 decades since I have worked on websites...there have been a lot of developments since then ;)
So, if you find a few minutes at a time to help create the FAQ archive, please visit the site at BurstFAQ.com
If you have any questions, or comments, or whatever, please leave some messages here or contact via the website. You can also post any faqs or glossary definitions in this page as well.
Thank you all in advance for the help!
Ryan

RE: Bought 500TB now what? Newcomer to Burstcoin.posted in Mining & Plotting
@Moniva If you have all segate drives, perhaps just using as many cpu threads as possible on as many machines as you have would be the best choice.
You would need 65 threads, so 6 of the same computers you are using. You will probably want multiple computers to mine as well. Maybe borrow a few for a little bit ;)
Do them all at the same time if you can...So all would be done in a week.

RE: More USB 3.0 Ports, or user a GPU?posted in Mining & Plotting
So, just an updated on this. The HD 4950 was an AGP card?! Didn't even look at the connector. So, I found another AMD...tested it, then installed in mining rig. Drivers installed, check, run creepminer...json errors. I ended up rebooting to make sure all the drivers were ok, then no display from anywhere...not even the newly installed card. I remembered that this motherboard refused to display any AMD cards I had tried in the past...which is why this was a Burst miner.
So, all I did was upgrade to Win 10 which decreased the scan times a little bit. I will leave it as it is, and make another build to switch the drives to eventually.

@iKnow0 Ok I will switch to an i3 and see what cpu usage is while mining. Maybe switch, maybe not.

RE: More USB 3.0 Ports, or user a GPU?posted in Mining & Plotting
@iKnow0 Does CPU matter when when using the CPU? Should I leave the i5 in, or can I switch to i3?

@iKnow0 It's dry, just water spots all over it.

RE: More USB 3.0 Ports, or user a GPU?posted in Mining & Plotting
@iKnow0 I found an ATI Radeon HD 4950 in a box, that someone zip tied a fan to the top of as a replacement I guess. Looks like it had gotten wet as well, but we'll give it a try later today!

@ryanw said in More USB 3.0 Ports, or user a GPU?:
@iKnow0 Do you think it would matter if I started using a GPU to mine, if I switched to a crappy cpu so I could use this one for another rig? I think I have a 2nd gen i3 around here somewhere...
I beat you to it ;)

Yep, there it went maxing out the CPU. I was hoping I wouldn't have to upgrade this one to windows 10...it's the last computer I have running 7, but oh well! I guess I had to do it sooner or later...
Thanks! -
More USB 3.0 Ports, or user a GPU?posted in Mining & Plotting
So, I currently have a rig with 1x1.5TB internal hdd (plus OS hdd), and 8x8TB external hdds mining. I have 4 externals through a 2 port pcie x1 card, and 4 externals off of the two motherboard ports (2 of the externals are the segates that come with hubs). Before I start switching everything around all over the place, from experience, should I be moving to a GPU miner now to keep scan times lower, or add more USB cards? I have an i5-3550K in the rig, and all it does is mine...I think 8GB memory.
The CPU usage after scanning usually is 40-50% per drive, but since they are concurrently scanning, the CPU is being maxed out right?
If I need a GPU, how old can I go with this? I usually grab as much parts as I can out of my recycling business instead of buying new ones.

Also, I'm wondering if anyone has problems reaching the site. I can't reach it on my phone (since I started it), and other people say it's not accessible.

Yes I am planning on adding a mods section! It looks like it will be more of a LithStud section though!

New Burstcoin Wallet Website - Trade Links?posted in General Discussion
Hey all, I have been working on a simple website that has all of the options for wallets, and hopefully will grow as time goes on with more options. I just wanted something simple with everything in one place. It's hard for a new user to navigate forums to find everything.
I will probably be adding screenshots, but I think walkthroughs and tutorials would be for a different websites...I want to keep this site really simple.
Burstcoin Wallets - http://burstwallet.io
I'm looking to trade links with existing burst websites so if you're interested, let me know!
