Hi all - Glad to meet you all and to be here myself. I found ecurrencies a few years ago with BTC, but was quickly outgrown via the difficulty level and costs of replacing equipment. I found myself eternally trying to earn the costs to upgrade, and so chasing my own tail was doing nothing for my wallet and was just burning my electricity....
So I slugged along in the hobby earning here and learning there for a while until I got bored again, and started looking for something more to do. I looked into finding a coin I could mine without buying a bunch of new expensive hardware - So I found cpu mining -> It looks like (generally speaking, at this time) there are four-ish coins that can be mined via CPU. I think I chose the strongest of those with Burst.
So I'm here -> I have my lappy running a little tiny 100 (ish-again) Gigs - but I have a 3TB hard drive to add to my desktop and will soon be running better. 'Till then, I'm reading and learning and will be asking some questions of you more experienced folks. Thanks in advanced!!
Rossman

@darindarin Yep, about 2.5 days. Shop around and you can get good prices on the internals - I got 24 new WD 8TB PMR
drives @ $177 each, free shipping.
yeah yeah, I scored my WD 3tb from local craigslist for 50 bucks. - I need to get that deal, again.

Hey community - I'm here to play on your guilt a little - I just started recently - and I see so many issues for our new friends and their attempts to get started in Burst. I was super lucky and the faucet I tried worked, but so many others since I started have been diminished to begging (that sucks, for the member). I'm up and running now, with a small 2.5TB system and it's mining happily away, and I'm starting to see a few credits in my wallet.
I need to thank ALL the helpful members in the hobby who are so willing to help and get us up running. You know who you are, Thank you!
I have sent 10 burst in return to the Faucet I drew 3 from. That returns my 3, and puts 6 in there for a newb to happen on.
If you are a new user or a veteran of Burst who got started through the faucets - I think it would be invaluable to grease the hand that fed you. It will assist in adding new miners joining the coin, and reduce some of the needless stress the Newb feels in addition to all the new stuff they're learning.
Send a few burst back to your faucet, Today!
This was a public service request by Rossman
@stanlei you shouldn't have changed, but wait through a few more blocks, I got the same message, but it resolved itself while hatch was working.

Thanks a bunch!

Growing quickly, too!! - my count this a.m. puts the pool at really close to one half Pb, That's hot!
Rm
@darindarin okay, I've tried a dozen different ways to display the red one, -> can you show a skeleton of the format? Am I missing a bracket, paren, ior dot, or some stupid crap like that?
Rm
Dang, gone for a half hour and I missed the block. I'm back - got the hard drive in and reformatted (Really cool, I think I found some old btc on it (Sweet, considering the value) - Anyway Now I have an old copy of cg and bfg miners if anyone needs em)) Now I'm happily plotting away and should be adding some new gigs to the mix in some hours.
Rm
Yo guys! All is well - Looks like the pool is starting to work some magic... Let's hope it keeps growing! - I gotta take my rig down for a bit to add another 1/2 tb - shouldn't be too long - Don't worry, I'm coming back stronger. (Also, I think my memory is keeping me from getting better deadlines, as I'm running 7 and not 6 or 8 -> So I'm hoping to fix that, today, too)

@Rossman01 did you get some from that block? we don't want you tearing up over there lol :P
Okay got 3 more (tears of joy) - So okay then, we need prolly 30 blocks a day to keep me happy. Get Crackin' miners!! If we need thirty, go out and get Forty!!
yeah yeah, it all came from here the 56 and the 9 due... no worries. just bitching that the pool isn't producing like I had hoped it would already. But I'm rooting for it. Like I said, I haven't bailed on you, just bitching, is all.

@Rossman01 expect a payout within 24 hours.
Sweeet. Nice start. Let's keep rollin'
Dude, give it more time. Don't jump around so much, you gotta build a footprint. It really takes a while, and you seriously aren't likely to hit something jumping around like a grasshopper. Please don't take offense, I'm just saying you do need a little patience for the pools more like a couple days before going on panic mode.
I had the same issue, but I took the displayed addy, and physically placed it in a browser tab - Taa Daa! - "Online" wallet. - Just have your original wallet pass code.

can we use the website in the wallet mining window instead of the IP?
Hey Darin,
I am - I'm the mini minerin your pool - I'm running the AIO wallet ver 1.6 something (I know theres a 1.7 out there now). The answer is yes - the only difference is, you place the IP into your mining addy, - and fill in the two blank fields accordingly....
Oh sorry, I read that backwards, you mean the 'site name' not the ip addy. - ignore this one. lol

Hi Tate-A - I joined the burstcoin.ml pool recently and wonder if there is a way to change the font color of the pool page.. the black is hardly readable against the changing backgrounds, maybe a yellow or i dunno what. Not sure it matters, but I'd kind a like to be able to see the text a little better.
Rm
Can I physically turn off the background for that particular window?
Hi Kmax, I've joined Bitsler (in advance of the site adding burst - as of friday 9am pacific, they have btc, eth ltc, and doge).
My name there is Rossman01 and my burst wallet is:
BURST-TWTS-VEYX-UDWT-3373X
What fun, and also what great news for the Burst community!!
I also played the faucet, and rolled dice a few times.

I thought this was a pool for small miners... Isn't the whole point of a pool to help the little guys get into the hobby a little easier, and less quickly discouraged???
I'm running about 1.5 and getting ready to add another 1.5 -> if this isn't the little kids wading pool, what ARE the ones the little guys are supposed to be getting into? - Seems to me, the pools are cornered by "~ 25TB" folks.
