How to not get your wallet hacked + Setting up your wallet correctly.posted in HowTo's & Tutorials
Creating a wallet securely
- Create a new wallet by selecting New user. (Start off using the Online Wallet client or selecting an online wallet w/HTTPS for a secure environment.) (If you have the time and resources, try hosting a wallet on your computer. If you can't, use the Online Wallet for only plotting and mining and access your wallet via locally or a wallet with HTTPS protocol.)
Write down your passphrase or copy it and paste it on a text document (not recommended).
- I like to have it saved on my computer on a .txt file in C:/Windows/System32 while naming it something random.
- Make sure to turn off line wrap!
- Since I have an android, I also save my passphrase on it incase something happens to my computer.
DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR PASSPHRASE PERIOD.
Login to your wallet by c+p'ing your passphrase. Make sure your clipboard is clear of the passphrase (type in some random junk and copy it to clear the clipboard of your passphrase.)
Verifying your wallet
Find a WORKING faucet from any site.
To tell if it is working;- Make sure it has a balance of 15+ BURST. If there is 0 Burst or so, it will not be able to send Burst. That's how a faucet works.
List of working faucets AFAIK
5/10/2017 - http://faucet.burstcoin.info/ <- unlimited use but 48 hr wait per use + most popular faucet
5/10/2017 - http://burstcoin.biz/faucet <- 1 time only faucet + gives 1~2 burst
Use the 2 faucets until you get at least 2+ Burst.
(c+p your Burst address into the box, complete the captcha and you will receive your Burst.)
There are more obviously that work, don't know all of them though. Most will start with faucet.faucetnamegoeshere.whatever- 2* burst is enough to get started. I will explain how.
Go to your Burst wallet.
Above your Wallet address, hit that box that will say something idk I forgot :/
Type in an account name to create an account name which will cost 1 burst. This is where the faucet comes in place.
Wait until at least 2 users have verified the transaction.
To test if your wallet works and is verified, set your reward assignment to the pool you are going to mine on. Will cost you 1 extra burst. That is where the 2 faucets come in.Setting your reward assignment
This is very important if you are planning to mine Burst otherwise your payouts will go nowhere.- For local wallets: http://localhost:8125/rewardassignment.html
- For online wallets via web browser: https://wallet.burst-team.us/rewardassignment.html
^or what ever wallet link you use, there is no difference. - For AIO client-based wallets (Open up the Local or Online wallet, hit on the bottom Start Mining. Then hit Change reward assignment.)
The last two boxes is where you are going for.
In the first box; c+p your passphrase there.
In the second box; c+p the pool's Burst address there on the pool you are going to mine on.
If all is done correctly, you might see about 7~8 lines of code. If not; check the error codes to see what is causing it and the possible solutions.
If you are getting an error which says you already set your reward assignment; you must wait 4 blocks (equals about 16~18 minutes.). Then try again. You are now set up to mine and receive transactions.
DO NOT CREATE A NEW WALLET AND SEND YOUR 1 BURST TO THAT WALLET
- I've made that mistake of thinking I can create a random wallet and send 1 burst to that wallet. It does NOT activate your wallet nor will it count. Just simply use the method of creating an alias up there, that will most likely work.
- Aliases and an account name are two different things, kinda mixed that up.
Fixes/Suggestions:
@haitch thanks@p0int_scale Good write up, but a couple of corrections:
If you're saving your passphrase in Notepad, make sure there is no line wrap - that will create a different pass phrase.
You need 2 Burst to get started - 1 for the name change, 1 for pool assignment.
For setting the account name, you're setting an Account Name, not an alias. Click on the the "No Name Set" and enter a name - this will associate a name for for your account, and will cost 1 Burst. Aliases are something different.
local wallet will be: http://localhost:8125/rewardassignment.html
For the online wallet, leave off the :8128 - the load balancer will take you to an active online wallet.
A successful reward assignment will result in 7-8 lines of code - a failed one will have a specific error, post it here.
@ZapbuzZ thanks
its just too bad i can't get into my lost account even for the assets.
If hard drive crashes thats it.
My advice is back it up on a thumb drive in a password protected archive and hide it where only the owner knows where. In the basement, attic, or even a fake rock in the garden. -

@darindarin I'm trying to add as much as I can; even if it's 2GB, I'll add it. I need as much as I can xd.

RE: Using Blago v1.170601 - red lines "Discarded" + Fast blockposted in Help & Support
Never seen a 'discarded' error before.
Not sure how to fix this, but the best I can tell you is try using different types of Blago_ miners.
I'm an Intel Core user, AVX2 works perfectly fine.
Your miner.conf is perfectly fine. For the fast block / corrupted file.
It might mean that your plot file is corrupted.
The fast block, I don't know what it is supposed to mean.I also looked back at the console you put in the thread, the servers DeadLine seems unusualy high. This could be a server-side issue.
20022589... whatever., is a crazy deadline.
Try using different types of Blago_ miners also. -
RE: Join bcaworldteampool.com Ninja style poolposted in Pool Announcements
The pool seems to have stopped working or something.
It's been 5 hours and I haven't found any new deadlines:

I checked other pools and it seems we are on the wrong block.
We're stuck on Block 369402, other pools seem to be on 369493 as of this post. -
RE: Plotting took long timeposted in Mining & Plotting
Making smaller plot files (50GB + 50GB + 50GB, etc until you hit 2TB or what ever) is not a good idea.
1- It simply creates a huge mess in your plots folder.
2-It does nothing to help you create your plot files faster. You're wasting your time doing that. You can do 1TB, 1TB, 1TB, etc or 2TB, 2TB, 1TB, etc. That's fine.Just like @ryanw said:
@medo2016 More CPU power and a better connection to the hard drive is the way to make it faster. How is the drive connected, and what kind of cpu, and how many cores did you allocate to it?
Better CPU, better Read/Write speed to the Hard Drive, allocate more cores, close out programs and stuff to let the plotter allocate more RAM to use.

RE: Plotting Very Slow - 5TB Seagate Driveposted in Mining & Plotting
@mrgoldy Use 3G with 6 cores.
Your RAM has a big impact on writing scoops. Your cores have a big impact on nonces/min. -
RE: Raffle ?posted in General Discussion
@batonkill I guess just don't buy or sell from it. Simply stay away from the Raffle asset until we know more about it.

RE: Pools for beginnersposted in Mining & Plotting
@kiknaio Honestly, you should start small; maybe buy a Seagate 2 or 4TB. Don't spend so much and expect to make a lot from it. You never know what can happen to Burst.
Seagates are good. Just make sure you have a USB 3.0 for fast reading and writing so your plots will be fast to read and write. If you don't have a USB 3.0 port, you might need to get an internal HDD (ones where you need a weird cable, plug it in the inside of your computer, all that shit is too hard tbh.)
I plan to buy a Seagate myself. Honestly, if you have a USB 3.0 port, get external hard drives. If you don't, get internal HDDs and learn how to plug in a HDD inside your computer. -
RE: Pools for beginnersposted in Mining & Plotting
So... you have about 800GB plotted?
Since I don't live in the EU, and most pools are in NA, I can't suggest you one. Simply; don't mine on Burst Ninja pools, they are for people with hundreds of TBs plotted.
Try switching pools until you find a pool that may suite your plot size. If not; you need to try getting more HDDs and plot them. -
RE: Mining on "small" pools like pool.burst-team.us vs "big" pools like ninja pool, whats the differenceposted in Mining & Plotting
In a nutshell...
More Terabytes = Lower Deadlines = More payouts/more profit
Less Terabytes = Still can get low deadlines but will most likely get high ones = Less payouts/less profit (ofcourse depending on pool you are mining on)Try to get at least 1TB and you can mine on pools that allow deadlines over 90 days.
Less than that; you might not make much mining on certain pools.Edit:
If you have HUGE amounts of TBs (300+ Terabytes) consider solo mining. You will make more profit off of solo mining with huge amounts of storage plotted. Do not solo mine with low amounts. You will barely make anything, you're better off mining in a pool. -
RE: Your browser doesn't support flash, therefore copy to clipboard functionality will not work.posted in Help & Support
@ozz33r Do you have adblock? Any plugins/extensions (system-wide or browser only) that may block JavaScript, Flash, HTML elements? Is your hosts file clear of any entries that say "burst" or "wallet"? Is your Internet Explorer up-to-date on a supporting system? Are cookies allowed?
Edit:
If your wallet says it can't be accessed, you must fund your wallet. If you have 0 burst on a brand new wallet, that is why. It needs funds to "activate" your wallet address. Reply with your wallet address if you have 0 burst with 0 transactions made so I can send you some Burst to get started.Edit:
If you are trying to access the Burst wallet on a web browser (I use firefox myself) such as firefox, do the steps above the first edit to fix the flash player issue. You do not need to update Internet Explorer UNLESS you are using the Burst wallet Client. -

Seems too confusing. -
RE: Join bcaworldteampool.com Ninja style poolposted in Pool Announcements
@rds Damn, the best I can get currently is around 1.5~1.6. Every little bit helps. Guess I'll be spending hours trying to free up C: drive space and plot my phone.

RE: How-To Burst off an SD card.posted in HowTo's & Tutorials
Amazing! I have a 128GB Micro SD card w/an adapter for computers but I need it for my android :/
Can I do the same thing with a 8GB USB Stick but just simply format it to NTFS? -
RE: Incorrect request when changing reward assignment?posted in Mining & Plotting
I figured out the problem. Well I didn't do much.
It magically started working so I guess I fixed it.
