@Ndabezitha I agree with you in stepping up the competition. But I'm not sure that high-payout faucets are really going to make much of a difference when it comes to BURST. They really just perform an enabling function, you know, a means to switch pools etc without having to spend from your own wallet. I don't see them as a way of 'earning' coins or attracting other people into the network, but perhaps I'm wrong. To me, PoC sparked my interest in Burst, and it's this idea that you'll have to sell before you see those exchange rates go up!

RE: what is the minimum space required for mining?posted in Mining & Plotting
@HeisenberG101 When you say memory, you mean RAM? Well the beauty of BURST a high spec setup simply isn't required. You can use a cheap PC or laptop and just add storage to get things going. Heck you can even burst mine cloud storage from your Onedrive/GDrive!
In terms of ROI, burst hasn't really caught up on the exchanges yet, so it can be difficult to work out how much of your time and effort to invest. Just bear in mind that:
a. BURST is really easy to setup and get started with
b. It isn't hard on your kit, Hash-based mining is sadistic by comparison.
c. BURST has a great community and the PoC concept is novel. If it takes off, happy days for all :)Have a go and have fun, but remember, storage is king with burst... chuck a couple of TB into a pool and see how you get on!
Good luck. K.

RE: Mining SIA coin to Burstposted in General Discussion
@crutsy I've just had a go at this after reading your post. It was a little trickier to get in and working than Burst that's for sure, but looking at it, I really like their approach with offering online secure storage. Which is a total bonus, because if this thing cooks my card (which it's really trying hard to do by the way) then I can always donate some spare storage instead to generate a few SC's ;)
Either way, next time BURST is under review on one of the trading platforms I should at least have a few coins in the bag to help bump things up a little!
So for now, I'm getting ~900MHs with Sia and it's heating the front room nicely...lol Thanks for the pointer crutsy :)

@HeisenberG101 Just bear in mind that the calculator really is a rough estimate, you'll have to add a good sprinkling of luck to get equal to, or better than, the calculation it provides. But it's not all about the numbers, the community here is great, I hope you enjoy it. Good luck!
