@malvino had the same problem, Windows is using some kind of fast shutdown, called hibernation. You have to disable it, then shutdown Windows and then you can mount the drive on Linux. Look here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/145902/unable-to-mount-windows-ntfs-filesystem-due-to-hibernation
