RE: Filled up half a PetaByte. Now What?posted in Mining & Plotting
I would think running 7 drives off a hub would be a bottleneck. I have one of those usb3 cards with 4 dedicated controllers 1 per port. Each port has a usb3 hub but I don't run more than 2-3 drives per hub connected to each port. Using a GTX 960 and jminer these are my read speeds. These are optimized plots of 85tb so no where the space u have but my speeds are good fro what I'm told.

RE: Problem when plotting with XPlotterposted in Mining & Plotting
Sounds like the same drives I bought 7 of. They scan plots just as fast as any other drive I have but they plot like shit! After 3% or so the write speeds drop to 5-10mb/s at best. So I had to alter my plotting ways to smaller 1tb plots to drives that write at max speeds then move them to the 8tb seagate backup usb drives at full 100mb/s speeds, go figure!

@Han-Solo After making so much $$$ with burst, I have to finish plotting the rest of my HDDs fast. 1pb coming soon...
Most definitely not PB territory but in my small world a substantial upgrade. 7x8tb should put me around double I'm running with now. The plots begin......

@Han-Solo Musicoin is hot now man, trying to get as much in my wallet and hopefully a big exchange picks it up and then price blow up. got 9351 atm. Nexus coin is another good one too!

@Han-Solo should be mining ETH, zcash or others with those 480's! I've got a 5x470 4gb rig mining musicoin atm netting $10 a day.

RE: pool.ccminer.net:8080 new pool for big miners!!!posted in Pool Announcements
@Han-Solo well that's what is hurting me atm. I have 3 of these with with 2 drives plugged in each, any more than that and speed tops out after 2 drives plugged in. Those 3 hubs plugged into 3 ports on the card, 1 drive plugged into the last card port and the last 3 drives plugged into onboard usb3 ports. Yes I have tried many many combinations of trying to optimize scan speeds only using what I have available and I'm topped out on speed with these drives.
Now if I could find a usb hub that speeds don't suffer when more than a couple drives plugged in I would love it!
I do have 1x3tb, 2x2tb and a couple 1tb internals sata drives not added yet but will do that this weekend bringing me back up to 57tb ish.

@RichBC @Han-Solo here is my 10x5tb block scan. Only thing is that I have a couple crappy hubs with the super fast 4 port usb card plus using onboard usb3 ports

RE: pool.ccminer.net:8080 new pool for big miners!!!posted in Pool Announcements
@Han-Solo I've got one of these for my 10x5tb drives and it makes a huge difference each port having its own controller. I'm just crippled now by the usb hubs being the bottleneck now :/
