First (!) Check the Faucets for one or two Burstposted in I need a Burst - A Burst is all I need
I'm aware these faucets are often dry or offline but it is still worth to check:
faucet.burst-team.us
faucet.burstcoin.info
burstcoin.biz/faucet
http://burstwallet.arihanc.com:81/
http://faucet.burstcoin.pt/and don't forget to support the faucets or new people directly with a Burst afterwards, too.

RE: Wallet setup (run.bat) stuck despite trying resolution from How to's & tutorialsposted in Welcome
@gamedevmike said in Wallet setup (run.bat) stuck despite trying resolution from How to's & tutorials:
Unfortunalety it did not help. I don't know the exact puropse of "popOff" but even when I put a big? numBlocks of 1400 there the only thing that happened was cpu usage rising to 100% (browser 50, java 50, then java all) for a while.
The run.bat still look like this:

I don't know what to think about this issue. Do I wait more or should I do something else?
As you see the fourth line from below is "Burst server 1.2.8 started successfully". Now you can go to your favorite browser and type in : http://localhost:8125 and use the wallet.

RE: Big Picture Update?posted in General Discussion
I can imagine that you are curious but crypto is full of announcements and castle in the skies I'm not going to participate in. Additionally development is all over the place at the moment.
Also core updates has never pushed the price upwards in my opinion as the main functionality is working: transactions. As everything consists of transactions there will not be a new killer feature soon on core level.
Everything else is on top of it anybody can participate in. Getting listed on new exchanges, payment channels and services are more likely to push the value of each coin. I'm talking about shapeshift, changelly, coinroom for example.
This kind of development is in the hand of the community anyways and don't need code.
Stability, robustness and usability should be in the focus of the coders these months if I could decide it. Not very exciting and prestigious but necessary.

I just released an updated which should behave better in front of Antivirus programs.
After the wannacry debacle some Antivirus companies got paranoid it seems.

RE: Burst Client for Windows v0.3.9 - All in One: Wallet, Plotting & Miningposted in Wallet
The false positive situation got worse every day instead of better, so I cleaned up the code of unnecessary functions and recompiled:
Update 0.3.9.7:
- code cleanup of unused functions
- added pool
