Thanks for all that. I, too, always wondered. I've always left about 50 gig free. Wasn't sure if true or just superstition, or bad rumors. I never asked... guess I'll stop wasting drive space from now on.
Thank you all... for asking AND answering. A neglected curiosity solved! Lol

RE: Anyone can give me tread about how to open asset exchange?posted in General Discussion
If you have the wallet, you have the asset exchange. On the left hand choices, one is "Asset Exchange". Click on that and your main screen will show it. It will be blank the first time because you have not added assets to it yet. Look around on the boards and you will notice assets advertised and they will publicize an asset ID. (long number string.) On your asset screen there is an "add asset" button in the upper right. If you click on that, it will ask you for the asset ID you would like to add. Copy and paste in the long number of the asset you would like to add to your portfolio.
Once you add an asset, when you click on it, buy and sell markets will appear on your screen for that asset and you can enter a buy or sell order as you wish.
I was confused at first too. I didn't realize that was my "personal asset Rolodex"... I thought it would just list them all. But it's more like a "watch list". You get to populate it with only the assets you're interested in.
Hope that helps and gets you started. -
RE: Does this view mean that the pool is downposted in Mining & Plotting
@luxe Thanks for that. I think I WILL try that next time! :)
Gotta be better than waiting days! -

@LithStud Thanks for the tip. will give it a shot... and no change.

RE: Does this view mean that the pool is downposted in Mining & Plotting
I'm getting the same view. All is working well.. just the view is not updating. I've tried flushing browser history, ect... If I do get it figured out I'll post what it was. (frustrating, but I'm sure it's something I'll clear or reset that will do it. - can't reboot the machine right now... I'm plotting the slowest 8 tb seagate EVER! Lol)

RE: why we can not mining with 299gb hdd?posted in General Discussion
As far as I know, there is no minimum limit...
Reference "Imineblocks" on youtube. He demo's mining on a (32G ?) USB stick...
(Fantastic channel btw... if you need info, starting out or ideas. I try to keep up on his vids. He's how I first heard about Burst.)Also wait for other answers... lots of very helpful people on here much smarter than me! Lol

RE: Need some help about deadlinesposted in Mining & Plotting
When mining on your drives, every "round" will poll your hard drives for deadlines. (highly recommended you join a pool if just starting out...) Your deadlines found in that round will be submitted to the pool with all the other miners deadlines. If yours is the shortest you stand the best chance of mining a block. If you mine a block the pay out is very good. If not, your deadline will pay a little bit anyway if another person from your pool does win the block. (you'll have to do some research on what pools pay what... I'm still a little new and trying to figure out myself! Lol - but that's the basic idea anyway...)
You will notice, every round, your hard drives will produce a new bunch of deadlines to submit.
If you watch the pool's site, you'll see "live" how you're doing. -
RE: Post your plotting speeds here. Plotting hardware comparison.posted in Mining & Plotting
@Blago Ah. I was wondering about that. Thank you.
Only having to do it once in a while, I'm not to worried about speed. Less than 2 days for a drive is good by me. And only a few to do for quite a while till a few pay days go by again. Now... if I had 10 or 20 to do at once... what a wonderful reason to worry about how it could be made faster! Lol ... Some day.. :) -
RE: I get this error every time I start to mine...posted in Mining & Plotting
Thank you Sooooo much. Worked instantly!
PS - yes. Failed as just trying the command. Repeated with the control+shift+enter addition and success. -
RE: I get this error every time I start to mine...posted in Mining & Plotting
Looking forward to the answer... I'm getting the same thing. Can push past it... but sure is frustrating! Lol
(takes SEVERAL cancels to finally start the miner... and only by random happy coincidence! Lol)
I'll be watching for the answer too! Lol -

Explains why every time I tried to optimize... it said it already was! Lol couldn't figure it out. Thank you!
I thought I was doing something wrong. -
RE: Post your plotting speeds here. Plotting hardware comparison.posted in Mining & Plotting
Processor: i7 6700 3.4 GHs
Memory: 16 GB DDR3 (but I think xplotter set to use 4 G by default? still new... not sure.)
Hard disk: External WD 6 TB My Book
Plotter: Xplotter - AVX in administrator mode
Speed: 8 threads = aprox 12,500 and 6 threads = aprox 10,200 nonce/minute.Surfing Youtube and on-line window shopping did drop it a little, but only by 100 - 500 nonce/minute.
(gotta dream about the next drive purchase. It's now an addiction! Lol)(Was worried about loosing the use of my machine while I plotted... no worries... doesn't seem to mind much. Lol.)
Took about 40 hrs to plot 5.5 TB on a 6 TB external USB 3.0 Western Digital 6 TB My Book drive.
