Total newbie and totally clueless
-
@Leece That not an error - that's the confirmation you re-assigned your reward assignment. Wait four blocks, you're good to go. You can start the miner now, but for the first 3-4 rounds you'll get an error that your reward assignment does not match pool. but after that you'll be actively mining.
-
@Leece you will probably need to plot again. but with this new address.
-
@Leece - Do all your plot files filenames start with "2048641972547150552" or something else ? If something else, then as Jonathon said, you'll need to delete and re-plot. It's essential you get the wallet passphrase perfectly correct every time.

You guys totally rock! Thanks so much for helping me with this.
I'll try again and wait the four blocks and see how that goes.
After I see how it goes, I'll replot with the addy Johnathon gave me.
Thanks so much for all your help.

It appears to be working!
Thank you so much for all your help. You guys are wonderful and I am truly appreciative.
:)

I'm going to re-watch that vid again and figure out what the plot thing is.
I'll get back to you and let you know if it's all ok or shout out again for more help.
Thanks!

@Leece If you have questions - ask, we were all where you are once, trying to get our head around this stuff. Once it clicks, you'll be a Burst Master.
-
Ok, I got to the plotting part of the vid and I looked in my plot folder and it does start with 20486
I just checked the miner and I don't appear to be having any error messages so it seems that it is working perfectly.
I can't begin to thank you guys enough.
I know that once I get the knack of it, I'll be fine. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Plus, once I get more knowledgeable, I'll be more than happy to help other newbies, just as you guys have helped me. (I used to run the support section for a large dating site, so I'm not really clueless generally, just when it comes to mining, apparently!)
Thanks again.

Just one more quick question - if I X out of the burst miner, and the icon vanishes from my taskbar, does that mean it continues to run in the background, or do I need to leave it open and running?
hoping that makes sense
-
@Leece yes, you need to let it open. have applications tho that can make it run in background but I think is fun to watch the miner working ;)
-
Thanks for the info. I thought that was the case, but I just wanted to double check.
I don't mind it running the way it is. It'll be good for me to watch it as part of my learning curve as well.
