Prices they are claiming 5 cents a Gig. 500 bucks now in a year 250 in 18 months 150 bucks. Problem is IMOP SeaGates do not seem to last like they used to.
Im sitting here looking at two 1tb Barracudas that click only had them for a year. I am leaning toward WD's Reds as my favorite drives.~Lostboy

@LostBoy I agree. If seagate made outstaning drives ' tomorrow ' that were dependable, it would be a couple of years before I would even consider buying from them.

Everyone says seagate is not good but before I heard that I bought 2 used 2TB server seagates with a combined 84000 hrs and they are finding blocks. The only thing I try to do is keep them under 45c operating temp. Maybe just lucky :)

WD is ALWAYS the way to go. I've been working in IT for almost 20 years now and I can tell you the majority of drives that I see fail, are Seagate. In that same time frame, I have had an extremely small amount of WD fail, when when I say small, you can count them on 1 hand. They are all that I buy and recommend to anyone who wants or needs a harddrive.

@tomahawkeer WD literally almost never fails. I second as another IT that we use nothing but WD
