Help with jminer

  • OK. I was trying to be a smart guy and nor ask for help, but I've been messing with this since yesterday.

I had a lightning strike nearby and stopped my computer cold. Upon re-start, I launched jminer. I got this:

    **E:\Jminer folder>java -jar -d64 -XX:+UseG1GC burstcoin-jminer-0.4.10-SNAPSHOT.jar
Error: This Java instance does not support a 64-bit JVM.
    Please install the desired version.

    E:\Jminer folder>pause
Press any key to continue . . .**

Just in case, I reinstalled Java 8.131 and Burst-jminer-0.4.10-SNAPSHOT.jar, and still nothing worked. All the jminer programs are in the same folder and on the same drive.

Any ideas what I should try next?

    Thanks in advance.

@vmantilla Do: start -> run -> cmd <enter> , then "java -version" - what does it return ?

  • Hi, @haitch! Thanks for responding so quickly.

    I get:

    C:\Users\Owner>java -version
    java version "1.8.0_131"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_131-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.131-b11, mixed mode)

    I hope you can help.

@vmantilla 64 Bit java will include "64 bit" in the version response. You don't have that, so Windows is finding a 32 Bit Java before the 64 Bit Java and it is using that instead of the 64 Bit.

do "echo %path%" and post the response here.

  • Hard to read. Here ya go:

    C:\Users\Owner>echo %path%
    C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\OpenCL SDK\6.3\bin\x64;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\OpenCL SDK\6.3\bin\x86;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\OpenCL SDK\6.3\bin\Pin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\OpenCL SDK\6.3\bin\GTPin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\iCLS Client;C:\Program Files\Intel\iCLS Client;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common;C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps;

    Thanks for your help

@vmantilla said in Help with jminer:

    C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath

this is presumably the java it's finding. Go into Add/Remove programs and check what Java(s) you have installed. If in doubt, remove them all, then re-install 64 Bit version.

  • Thank you, @Haitch. I'll do that.

I'll let you know what happens.

  • Well, I got something different. Here is the new output. Quite long. Let me now if you'd prefer a smaller font.

    Again, thanks for your help.

@vmantilla Make sure in the jminer.properties you have platform=1 and device=0 . If they're set that way, then I have no idea sorry.

  • <Heavy sigh>. I also thought of that, and changed them to all possible 4 configurations. The setting you suggest above is what I have now. No dice <sob>.

Thanks for your help. Maybe I'll just delete everything and re-install.

    Cheers!!!

  • I think I found the problem.

I had listPlotFiles=true. Apparently, if you are pool mining, this variable cannot be set to true.

Now, it jminer seems to run but it is unable to get mining info from wallet. I'll increase the connectionTimeout to 240000. I hope that works :).

    Again thanks for your help.
