New 8 TB

@ciscler im plotting 8tb atm i do it in 1 big plot and will never do it again. If ur pc shut down for any reason u have to start over again. So i would do small plots like 1 tb. So u can easy give ur machine a break and if something goes wrong u dont have to do all the work again.

Thanks you for your help

ciscler listen me. I've went through this road.
So 1 bigger plott file (1 x 8tb ) is always better, than 8 smaller (8 x 1 tb).
First check your external hdd. If that disk is SMR (google to understand what that means) don't plott on him directly.
You should plott file on PMR disk and than transfer file (copy/paste) to SMR disk.

That's just not true. XPlotter can be start again if you power loss or restart PC for some reason. There are topics about that. You must configure and start RunThisAsAdmin.bat file.

@preslav1980 was asking that before. Sry, but nice to know

Use xplotter - it can resume the file without restarting if the plot is interrupted for any reason.
-
xPlotter is included in the All in one windows burst miner?
-
@ciscler Yes, it's the default plotter, but to resume is a manual process.
-
But would it be very worse if I make 4x2 TB plots? Because then I don't have to wait so long until I can use the disk to mine. And why are many plots worser then one big plot?
-
@ciscler Not Very worse, but worse. With four plots - The miner seeks to plot one, reads some nonces, seeks to plot 2 reads some nonce, seeks to plot 3, reads some nonces, seeks to plot 4, reads some nonces, seeks back to plot 1, reads some nonces ..... vs Single large plot: Seek to first scoop, consecutively read all the scoops for this round.
Seek operation are hugely expensive in time - just doing one and then contiguously reading is so much more efficient/effective.

@haitch how do you resume ?
