Does Burst software accept IP6 addresses?
-
I was trying to set up a small pool and I didn't have a name like pool.com assigned to it so I decided to just put the IP4 address of the pool in the miner (jMiner) config file. It didn't work. Now there may be a problem at my end, as I think the IP4 should work, but I could only access the pool web page by using the IP6 address in my web browser. So I tried to put the IP6 address in the JMiner config file and it didn't work. Does JMiner, and Blago miner accept IP6 address formats? @blago, @luxe ?? Thanks,

@rds I cant speak for all pools, but mine, to the best of my knowledge, don't accept IPv6. They're also proxied, and the proxy is dependant on the dns name - using an I{P address with my pools will not work - you need the correct DNS name and the port for the pool.

I have used 123.145.232.212 (IP4 e.g) in the Jminer config to access this pool I speak of and it worked fine. My question is if I put [01:8d:8701:f3b0:d55a:8bf7:3786:da81] (IP6 e.g.) in the miner config for the pool server, will the miner understand it? Either Jminer and/or Blago miner.

@rds Not my pool - so no idea how it'll act]

@haitch , the question is about the miners not the pools.

@rds Idk, try it out I guess.

@Nisc3d , haha, I did but since I'm not sure if my router is processing requests properly, it's hard to tell. @blago, @luxe any thoughts?
