Low read speed when mining with USB 3?
-
According to a test I did with H2testw, I have a write speed of 143 MB/s and a read speed of 144 MB/s on drive E. Drive E is connected through a USB 3 hub that is connected to a USB 3 port on my laptop. My computer shows the device as "Connected to USB 3.0". However, when I mine using the CPU miner, I only get a read speed of about 25 MB/s. Should it not be higher?
What could be the bottleneck here? My CPU or RAM does not max out by far.

read speed of about 25 MB/s
read & calculate
if you optimize your plots or (replot GPU-plotter with parameter DIRECT) you get best performance.
and make defrag

@Blago OK, I thought the miner only showed read speed, thanks for pointing that out. I will try to optimize the plots one day and run a defrag on the drives I use (except my SSD, because defrag is apparently not good for SSD drives).
-
@Propagandalf and if SSD - optimizations not needed
-
@Blago So if SSD, then it is not necessary to defrag or optimize? Or just one of them?
-
@Propagandalf it is NOT necessary to defrag AND optimize
-
ok, thanks =)

@Propagandalf SSD drives always have the same access time in every sector. Defrag is worthless on this type of drives...
