The cpus are fine to mine burst. The only problem with the case is that I don't remember if that backplane or the raid card supports only 2TB drives. That's the problem with older servers some only suport drives up to 2TB.
-
@manfromafar they support up to 4 tb drives maybe 5tb and 6tb too (but need to test that) my plan is to run them with 100 tb per server.

@harrygon said in can i mine with this thing?:

You can check mining speeds here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ADgEidGEDrVNRt024pFztLfMGM2tZzIfYjB5y5PBxWg
About this server - what disks you want to plot - internal, or USB, what volume?
Best solution is to plot with GPU or Xeon 2660-80, they are really cheap, complete system will worth about 400 usd. With around 20 000 nonces.

@manfromafar usually they dont support more > 2Tb, depends on controller and MB - plus is very important type of logical disk sector size - for old MB and adapters its 512Kb, but most sata hdds with 4Tb and more - have 4k sector size
-
@manfromafar Don't know about the backplane, but the controller, with up to date firmware, supports 8TB Drives - I have one of them in Pennywise at the moment.
