How to create own burst pool like pool.burst-team.us?
-
I'm interested in getting a pool going. I can get ESXi running. I assume I'll need a static public IP and a DNS name. @haitch, would you help me? Do you charge?
Also, is it possible to get a pool running on AWS?

@ElMoreno Yes I can help you, no I don't charge, yes you'll need a DNS and static IP, and maybe it possible in converting it to AWS.

@haitch awesome! I can start building the ESXi host right away as I have the hardware sitting. The public IP and DNS should be quick. I've downloaded the Lex and the Ninja SW but I'm not sure which one to use. After building it I think it could be easy to migrate to AWS since it has ESXi integration.
I can front the money for the initial costs but I expect that the fees pools take are to pay for those if the pool is successful.
Please let me know the next steps I need to take.
Thanks!!

@ElMoreno I'm going to be out of town for the next few days, won't be able to set it up until I get back. Basically I send you a VMWare template, you deplot it, I edit a number of files - then you're a pool. I've been trying to work on instructions on running the pool - but am behind where I want to be - so I'll have to help you run it until the doc is complete.

Getting the pool runnning on aws shouldn't be that hard. But AWS has some hiccups with freebsd. So its not a simple dump of the system. If you know your way around freebsd shouldn't be to hard to rebuild the machine though the only annoying thing isthat you have to get a copy of the orginial ninja bins is all.

@haitch No worries. No rush. Thanks again!
@manfromafar Thanks for the info. I'll get it running on my server and start exploring AWS option. If it's too much of a hassle I'll just keep it in my data center.

Hey @haitch . I have built the ESXi host. Let me know when you get a chance to send me the download.
Thanks again!!!

@ElMoreno Will have it ready for you tomorrow

Hey @haitch, I been having trouble mining on the burst-team.us pool. I've been keeping up with other threads and I can see that you must be busy trying to fight the DDoS attacks. No worries. I'm in no hurry. I just want you to know that I"m still interested but it can wait until things are more calmer.
