Is pool.burstcoin.eu down
-
@haitch Down again?
-
@Bas19801 Yeah, was a problem with the proxy - 30GB log file .....- fixed now.
-
Hi I'm new to mining. I'm fairly certain I started mining more than 24 hours ago in the pool.burst.eu pool but I haven't received any rewards. Is there any way to check if I am due some burst?
-
@haitch I would still like an answer on my last message. I feel that I have missed some payouts.
-
@PummelHummel What is your Burst ID?
-
504 gateway timeout error?
-
@batonkill I haven't seen @haitch on today but I'm sure he'll get to it when he has time. Hang in there. :)
-
@neilwang1997 I cant check at the moment, but as @socalguy said, I'll need your Burst ID to be able to check
-
@haitch BURST-TU9G-6AEA-7A3B-3GCAE
cheers
-
@neilwang1997 I can confirm that there is a payment due - it should be coming out soon.
The pool wallet has been having some hiccups - block submissions/syncs with invalid timestamps, they sometimes break the wallet.
-
@haitch I still haven't received it yet but I'll keep mining :D thank you.
-
Looks like the pool might be down again. Are there more reliable pools or is this a ddos?
-
@digidan there is a ddos attack going on on several pools
-
what is really happening to this pool often ,
-
it wouldn't surprise me if this is a result of recent events,the greed of a few has cost many a lot.
-
@batonkill The greed of who?
The pool has been having some stability issues causing downtime, and mined a phantom block leaving the pool with insufficient funds - I sent my own coin to the pool to cover the shortfall and the pool has paid out.
-
@haitch sorry was referring to the ddos attacks and pools being down wouldn't surprise me if jabba the ego wasn't behind it in some way, haitch i understand it's difficult when holding down a job to also find time for this,maybe its time to let another mod/admin have access to the reset switch,people's frustrations are understandable when they've invested time energy and resources into this venture to be' to be constantly chasing around for answers,some of us are invested quite heavily into the mining side,so having to do this on a regular basis will only push people to turn there back on burst,it's having a difficult enough time as it is.
-
@batonkill No problem - I was probably being a little sensitive there - apologies.
I am looking for people I can trust to have access, but given that access to one server behind the firewall gives them unrestricted access to ALL the servers behind the firewall, and root level access to some of them - it requires a very high level of trust.
@Luxe is one I would, and already have permitted, but haven't asked him if he's willing to be a backup pool manager.
Others are being considered as well.
As far as I can tell, the visual issues on the pools, as they continue to mine, and in many cases, very successfully mine, are down to the DDoS attacks.
The pools use two aspects of the http protocol - Get/Post and WebSockets.
GET is used to get current mining info, or the static content of the pools.
POST is used to submit deadlines.They for the most part are working. As I said, the pools are successfully mining so GET/POST is working. The static display of the pool means you got the "GET" data, but can't get the updates. The gateway timeout is simply the system being overwhelmed by the intensity of the attack.
The issue is with the dynamic content on the pool displays - that is what is getting disrupted by the DDoS
Websockets get setup so rather than you having to keep polling the pool for new info, the pool pushes it you - way more efficient, but apparently more easily disrupted. When I get home I'll be looking at making that part more resilient.
Some of the .EU issues are already being addressed another way, that I'm not willing to discuss.
I'll just end with saying I find it rather enlightening that now that Crow has split from Adam, his pool is having the same problems mine have been having ....
-
@haitch We can talk about, but i'm dev, no admin ... not sure if i'm capable doing that kind of things.
-
@haitch no apologies needed fella,i fully understand the difficulties your facing at the moment and appreciate the work you guys put into this, its far beyond my skills level and i take my hat off to you for that, as for the security issues i'm pretty sure id feel the same way.
