@luxe said in Burst Blockchain DDL - Updated Regular every 24h (Zipped):
i just tried this link and its inhumane slow.... it said it would take 2-3 days to download and that was for a 1.5gb file
on burst nation i found a link to a google drive link which is 5.7 gb and that downloaded in less than 15 mins. I'm on a 50Gbit/s connection.
the google drive link is: https://doc-04-78-docs.googleusercontent.com/docs/securesc/vucliql5j12uoddb4vpgurr2sibihlt0/h7b5u43ej9c1jf1jf15rjif2cmr40rls/1498219200000/04222721106890907863/06369062128648685775/0B0Q42ssOM6b6eU0tVWJseW5nVDQ?e=download
is that zip still valid?

@boelle Burstnation is a different website. You would have to ask whoever posted the link on that site.
Thats a link to one i made on the 18th of this month. You will need to sync 4-5 days worth which shouldnt take too long.
50Gbit/s are you sure????? Or do you have your units mixed up xD
-
@boelle download blockchain as zip file from a centralized source, should always be only a fallback if nothing else works. In general just let the wallet sync. you can speed it up via GPU support:
https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/751/howto-use-opencl-gpu-for-accelerated-snyc-with-blockchain
Takes maybe 2h, but you will have a 'clean' freshly created burst db ...
-
yes but why does the download take 2-3 days for a 1.5gb file? that is slower than a granny can walk :-D
and the wallet is evenly slow.. are they downloading from the same source?
but i agree on using a central source.... its just a pain to see the sync is so slow when my connection is so fast
-
btw... https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/751/howto-use-opencl-gpu-for-accelerated-snyc-with-blockchain
is that not linux based instructions? do you have a similar link for windows? and not even sure if it would work for my laptop
-
@boelle use db1.burst-team.us instead. The link is so slow because there's a DDoS going on again, and the db.zip was one of the attack vectors. The web server for it has been shutdown.
-
will give that a go
it gives me a file 5 days old but i guess it will sync quickly

I have started maintaining a list of blockchain mirrors that I manage here:
http://burstwallet.io/burstcoin-blockchain-download/
They'll at least be updated once a week, hopefully more if I can get some of this automated.
-
for others that would be awesome... while at it try and secure it as much you can against DDoS
