Haitch's Assets Asset
-
Ouch- and there goes the asset price- I lost a whopping 500,000 Burst today in asset devaluation and looks like dividends are not going to come close to paying for close to what I put in for like ever
Here's my observations after today-
- Assets are going to lose their attraction very quickly if people pay large asset prices at IAOs only to see them tank
- Assets truly need to utilize some sort of AT smart contract to ensure dividends are paid out- There shouldn't be a "choice" of the asset issuer- Protect the investors
- Burst community needs to clean up the reputation and stop the absurdity of hacking attacks, theft, in fighting and other BS or people will start taking their money and equipment to other storage paying ideas.
-
@SilverSlonny Other asset holders could be deferring payments. Between the last payout and today Burst went up by 300-400% - but even so, the payout shocked me. I do see however see some big name assets missing, so there might be an interim payout for delayed payments.
In the OP I promised to payout on Mondays, it's Monday - I paid out what I'd been sent.
Wish it was better.
-
@haitch you really have done well- This wasn't about you or the asset but about whats happening with Burst in general- You are one of the few I actually trust
-
@SilverSlonny Thank you. Everything that goes on with my asset happens on the BlockChain - there is 100% transparency as to where the income comes from, and how it gets distributed. This weeks payout was a shock to me, but what I payout is dependant on what they payout. Over the next few days I'll be looking at what has changed over the last couple of weeks - but the price spike is I expect a large part of it.
-
Things happen @Haitch, I don't think anyone is too worried. My pool forked which cost mining time and my payout was shorter than expected.
-
@newsense2004 I'm not worried about it - I'm still paying out what I promised to do. The shock is about how high the artificial manipulation got the coin to, and the (hopefully) short-term damage to the coin.
-
The same thing happened to me when I was trying to build a asset very similar to what you have going but this was back when the coin was 70sats. I quickly realized that if you want something done right you got to do it yourself. Their are only 3 assets I see worth investing in and this is one so that really only leaves two other decent ones out there for this asset to invest in.
I'm just a small time holder of this asset however I'd like to see you liquidate some shares from the poor preformers and use those funds to beef up the asset's miners.
-
@Gibsalot problem is so many undercutters shoot the assets in the foot though because if no one buys from the issue and has to keep buying from the undercutters, the assets can't grow, so it may be short sighted short term gains for the udndercutters but it doesn't help the assets grow at all. This is the problem most of the good assets have now, most asset issuers can't grow their assets because of the short term day traders who want to make the quick profits. I understand your side of the story but if we were all to put our sells above the asset issuer, then if the asset issuer can sell more shares, the asset value would grow, investor confidence would grow and so would our dividends..This constant sell pressure on the AE and barely any liquidity in the buy books is making the AE very weak and it doesn't look good to new investors coming in. If I was a new investor and saw weak buy books, heavy sell pressure under the issuer shares, I would never buy because that to me looks like there is 0 investor confidence. It's only because of my love for this community and burst I will try to keep buying good assets, but as a hardcore cold investor coming in, it doesn't look. So maybe we all need to take a step back and ask ourselves, are we in this for the long haul or we just wanna make a quick buck for ourselves and we don't care about the growth of the assets we buy into and the future development for OUR INVESTMENTS to grow? :)
@haitch I am waiting for a bit of BTC to arrive from an exchange that is a bit buggy and is stuck, can i buy some shares from your issue direct in btc please? I want to buy some for my qbk asset and for my personal bag. I will also support undercutter market but I want these investments to expand and grow long term so don't mind paying the premium to buy from asset issuers as well. This is my way of supporting the AE.
-
@qibucks Your very good hearted. Their are under cutters in every market and this is not a bad thing at all. Someone has to put a bid on the asset to make it worth something. It is much better than having zero bids on the books.
The problem with the AE is that the assets are not good enough for original investors to hold over asset issue price. If they were worth holding people wouldn't be selling them for massive losses of coin. I think the future is bright for the few trusted asset managers. Stick with the assets that offer incentives to be a investor. Incentives like escrow or insurance or even buy backs. Look for the very few where the manager is willing to invest from time to time out of their own pocket or is at least buying shares for themselves. The biggest CEOs in the world are also some of the biggest investors into the same company that they manage.
-
@qibucks I can certainly sell you some direct to BTC - contact me on PM with details
-
Just finished reading the thread, looking at the numbers and I really think that this is a great asset. Just got my first 8 and I hope to get more in the future.
-
@haitch Have you forgotten about div day?^^
-
@Hyzi0 Out of town at the moment with limited connectivity - I'll try and get it out tomorrow. Crappy hotel WiFi kept throwing errors trying to calculate the payment.
-
@haitch Is everything ok with this asset? Don't remember you missing a payout that is why I'm concerned.
-
@vprf looks like he's out of town but at least communicating - posted here a day ago
-
@all - apologies for the missed payment - out of town with crappy hotel internet, and insane working hours - got to love those 17 hour work days.
If I'd missed it by a day or two, I would have posted it, but given that it's almost a week - there's going to be a double payment Monday, June 5th.
Summer is the silly season for my non-crypto life - I'll do my damnedest to keep the payments regular, but there will be hiccups due to my work schedule.
Payout Balance is currently at around 143K Burst, with the weekend + Monday dividends to be added. This is going to be at least 7x the May 22 payout, and with with the dividends still coming, could be 13-15x ?
-
@haitch sounds good😊
-
@haitch I'm making a couple of changes to the asset:
-
As the active trading on the asset shares for less than issue price is preventing more share sales, I'm going back to the original plan - 80% of dividends received will be paid out, the other 20% will be reinvested into additional assets for the asset. This takes effect on Mondays payout.
-
As the addition of the Pennywise miners hasn't generated the expected increase in demand, one of the Pennywise miners is being retired out of funding the asset - the other will continue to mine for the asset. This takes effect AFTER next weeks payout - so Mondays payout will include 50% of the income from both of them, after that it'll just be one of them.

Just wanted to say thanks for playing it this way rather than lowering your Asset Issuer price. In all the turmoil this Asset has held it's price remarkably well, both due to the trustworthiness of the Asset Issuer and your generosity of the Dividends being calculated only against sold shares.
It will be great when the price rises just a little and new shares will again be purchased, but thanks for your patience in waiting for this to happen. I have to a large degree lost confidence in Assets, but this is the one that I am hanging on to as it both gives me broad exposure to other Assets and I can sleep at night without worrying about what I will wake up to.
