Burst4All concerns

  • @haitch Valid point, as I do see it going both ways. But at the same time, can anyone truly be blamed for "screwing the network" if it's a 50/50 split? I mean we can play the semantics game and blame people for splitting the community but I guess this is a true test of the coin's consensus mechanism - will it stabilize or continue to cause forks? And at what cost?

  • admin

@k.coins The real question is why did this only start happening over the past few days? None of us have the ability to modify the pool code - so what has been changed ?

  • @haitch lots and lots of transactions being verified by approximately only half the network... isn't that what has changed? lol - sorry, don't want to sound rude but that's how it seems... but as to why??

If you haven't "blacklisted" them, have they "blacklisted" you? Even though a blacklist would only slow things down by putting roadblocks in certain places, as was mentioned above, information can still travel around, only in a slower manner. So, from that premise, it's when the blocks start flying by faster then one every 4 minutes, that's when the forks start happening - not enough time for the information to disperse around the roadblocks.

@k.coins You're welcome to look at all my configs - I have not blacklisted them - if you really want to see, I'm willing to do a TeamViewer session as many in the community are willing to listen to you. It's possible they have blacklisted me - some of my wallets don't show them as a peer, some show them as disconnected, and some show connected

  • I found this in my nxt.properties config file. Is this part of the problem? Who determines these addresses are "blacklist"?

@rds They're wallets running really old versions of the wallet that cause the later versions problems

  • @newsense2004 said in Burst4All concerns:

I have a proposal. All you burst Nation fucktards go back there.

    @ all agitators

I'm starting to get really pissed off by all the hostility that has been unleashed lately. You must get a hold of yourselves and stop acting like pricks. The Burst community should not be defined by which forum we are most active in, and it should most certainly not be defined by some of the loudest voices apparent in these threads. Some of you keep complaining about certain others "destroying the coin", when you obviously don't see that it is your constant negativity that scares away new people and old alike, thus destroying the community feeling that has embraced so many of us. Zeus's departure is a clear testament to this. Your anti-social behaviour is detrimental to any kind of development.

Stop attacking individuals and the other forum, we are all free to choose where we want to hang around and who we want to talk to, but it sounds more like the choice is A or B or fuck off from Burst entirely. Do you have any idea how dysfunctional that is? Remember that Burst is a community project and not owned by anyone, which also means that individuals can do as they please to promote Burst or build services tied to Burst tech without being second-guessed every step of the way. Instead of creating noise, you miserable sods could've earned a fortune from clicking faucets. Sadly, you're focusing all your energy on creating as big of a divide in the community as humanly possible.

By all means, discussion and disagreement is good, but take a deep breath and a step back and ask yourself if you are truly making Burst better or worse by pointing fingers, and then zoom out and think about the big picture and not just about individuals. There is so much we can accomplish together, but then there needs to be room for all of us, and for growth and development. The irony of this thread containing the phrase "Burst for all" in its name is depressing. Ease up on these petty disputes for the sake of the rest of us who are sick and tired of reading about this crap, and before you make more of my old friends leave and my future friends never come.

@Propagandalf I expected to come home to everything being quiet here, and there, and just being able to get on with doing what we can for Burst here today.

Instead I had a curious message to cheer up.

Then started the upgrade to the GitLab site, where the Burst Wallet is maintained.

Then found this thread ..... good day turned crappy, cheer up message now understood.

Message deleted and personal privacy complaint with YouTube lodged.

Had an intriguing message about my assets.

    Completed the GitLab upgrade.

Said Fuck It, cancelled the rest of my ambition for the day, and sat down with a cold beer. Which is where I'm now. I don't want a war with the Nation. I've disputed publicly/privately with those members, and as a result been banned from their forums, been banned from Crows conversation site - and been very inaccurately attacked here.

And yet despite all this crap dumped on me, I still decide to keep funding my servers and making Burst better.

I'm not attacking those individuals - just raising concerns that I see, which is what I would do whether they used to be part of my team or not. They retaliate with very personal attacks on me - I have not lowered myself to that level. Yes I have lashed out inappropriately (as in banning Crow / Focus ) out of anger, but those mistakes were reversed. What they do is not a mistake - it's personal attacks to break down this community. As Adam himself said "Bud, lemme make it real simple for you to grasp. I will wreck anyone who shows disrespect to me" - I won't kow tow to Adam, ergo I need to be destroyed. Adam will not destroy me.

That's not going to happen. These forums will remain here for the Burst Community, as an alternative to the Adam Cult of Personality. I miss the former trusted members here that have gone to the dark side - their cookies can't be THAT good !

@haitch I didn't watch the full email about about me, so I assumed I missed the part where Adam said I would use be able to use the 1,5M burst left over to pay the investors over the "transition period". What transition? I didn't have access to the 100TB+ miner, I didn't have control of the hardware Crow promised the miner - what they want'd to transfer to me was a miner earning pennies - and presuming the goodwill of them to send me those funds, when there has been no goodwill. I decided to not accept that. The 1.5 M is Burstcoin they've accepted and will never payback, and have another intention for.

  • @keyd0s sorry for late replay :) been sleeping. Yes it was about that. Got some shit because of it, but hey thats life :)

  • @haitch Don't let that affect anything, Adam is BS in all his videos and all of his assets and all of his comments. He saw opportunity with Crow's stupid idea and used it against you to take over. He loosed his dogs to smear all your efforts towards Burst. So sorry for those who fail to see his identity and following him blindly.
As of now, there's a technical problem in Burst network, Attack or not, problem needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP.

  • In regards to out of sync pools: I can verify that the issue is network related and not any one pool or pool program trying to cause issues.

I run Lex's pool, and I am a full minute behind Lex's own pool. This has caused me to lose out on several blocks my pool says ive gotten, but dont register on network.

Given that we have two pools running same code out of sync, the issue cant be with any specific pool or pool code.

  • I am quite tired the shady shit focus and adam are pulling with burst4all they keep doing everything behind people's back.. they just delete post from burstnation about concerns I am done with Adam h focus asset and everything to do with then 3 till they grow and think of us the community not there own fucking pockets

  • @LithStud was also sleeping xD. Yeah we all got some sh!t for speaking our opinions there, but I think we made our point clear. just woke up to see that the forum that had adam attacking you is privatized, so I think they got the point aswell.

  • @keyd0s well kudos goes for you speaking out as investor, in my opinion if people invest in you it is normal to inform and answer as best you can. And he goes after you as if its your fault. Well at least Focus interjected later and explained. If damage was done will be seen.

Anyways the faster all this shit blows over the faster we can continue our work improving burst - and i use our work fairly loosly here lol as havent done much yet :)

Good luck with your investements, as for me personaly AE is the center of burst so its always nice to see others embracing it :)

  • @LithStud Yeah I totally agree. The way Adam handles criticism was quite... childish, to put it into simple terms. And therefore I think reacting on such matters should not be left to him. There are other members more suitable for that.

transparancy is key, and as they said in The Newsroom : 'There's nothing more important in a democracy than a well informed electorate'.

Thanks a lot ;) it was nice to see I wasn't standing alone out there. Thanks for speaking up as well.
    Cheers!
