What the actual f*ck

  • i been installing HVAC ductwork in industrial size buildings for 9 years and worked as a GC punchout man in residentual for 7 years befor that..... been layed off for almost 2 years now and cant even get a job pushing carts at walmart. i think i have figured it out thou all of my recent job history shows me making 27+ an hour, no company wants to pay anywhere near that , and all the 12$ an under unskilled job's view me as a flight risk because they know ill leave the first time an HVAC company offers me dubble the pay

  • maybe, my resume might not be formatted 100% correctly but I know for a fact it is impressive lol but yeah I think that might be part of my problem I made damn near six figures last year since I was a contractor and so companies don't want to pay me what I have made before (no I'm not stupid enough to demand six figures from every job I apply to just cause I made it before)

  • Are you guys actually listing your salaries on your resumes? I imagine it doesn't take the brightest bulb to piece it all together based off work history, but still.

I would also suggest working with placement agencies. They will be able to help you get a foot in the door somewhere, even if it is a slightly reduced pay, and then you can argue your salary at a later point. I feel it's easier to argue later down the road then it is when you first interview.

    the same shit! :)
    Russia.
    Avg salary - 300$/month
    Avg pension ~150$/month
    But we happy )))

@Blago of course, you guys have Vodka!

  • @DougLife lol no I don't list my salary on my resume but as you stated when you read what I did, it isn't hard to deduce that I was highly paid

  • @socal I understand you indeed. I have been also looking for a job already since September last year and it sucks (for me at least) been so close to actually get something of my interest on several times but at the end doesn't quite work the way I expected. I have had several interviews and even a nice feedback most of the times, but there is always the same note saying: "We appreciate you have taken your time to apply for X position, but we will no further follow with your application as other candidates fit better for the above mentioned position", and my problem is that I do not want to continue in academia. I am about to finish a PhD in Physics, but it is like all the experience one obtains making a fuck*** PhD counts null. If I knew this I would probably not invested 4 years of my life doing this :) Anyway, let's hope things get better for everyone!

  • @vExact yup I went straight to the Army out of High School, and while I do have some college, I never got a degree. The funny thing is, Experience has outweighed Education time and again for me. So I am very grateful the Army gave me so much experience.

Yes I know I need to eventually finish my degree but to be 100% honest, I have no interest or incentive to do so. IT values experience and certs not as much degrees, in fact every job I have worked the only people that HAD to have degrees were the stuffed suits from corporate (or from HQ if it was the military) and I have NO desire to get into that line of work since I enjoy doing the technical stuff.

  • For those who think it is easy to find work
I also thought it, I started to work at thirteen years and I did not miss work until a little more than 2 years ago. I have worked almost 30 years, and it is now that I have realized that wanting to work is not enough, it also takes a bit of luck and also if you have someone you know who can help you better

  • @Energy very true, who you know is just as important as what you know

    yeah, that's called vitamin B :)

  • @vExact lol nah its Vitamin W aka "Wasta" aka I have spent waaaaaaay too much time in the Middle East lol

In time it will slowly start making sense.
This is what Collaboration brings between BURST/Adsactly/KORE Team and many many others.
Stock up on popcorn for when it starts to roll there won't be time to go out and get more.

  • @MikeMike well damn I have none of those Assets, nor do I have the capital to stock up on a sufficent amount nor do I have the time to wait for when/if they explode....sorry not trying to be a drag, my fatalistic pragmatism is running rampant

  • @socal

the changes I'm referring to are not just the inevitable rise in all the coins/assets prices but more directed toward "change".
That's all I can say for now.
    ;-)

    Back to lurk&work...

  • @MikeMike lol nice

  • @MikeMike what is KORE?

  • @socal

I hope you find something that is best for you soon.
