Plotting 8Tb WD external drive....wish me luck
-
UPDATE After 12 hours it only moved to 3%
I deleted the plot and started over . I decided to do 2TB at a time. after nearly 20 hours I am at 60% done through the first plot.
I AM EXCITED
-
@darindarin screenshot pls
-
having difficult time using the pc that is plotting at the moment but took this screenshot in anticipation of the updated post a few hours earlier.

i feel bad even trying but managed to get the miner to pop up for this screen shot just now.. i figure the error is the plot im currently working on.

-
yea your only seeing that error because your are plotting while mining
-
@Stillicide guess i will stop mining when plot is finished and restart it to include this file when i begin the next 2tb plot size
-
@darindarin no need to restart miner the plot file is already known to the miner, hence the error opening the file.
-
@iKnow0 even better! thanks for the insight
-
You will see errors of files that are currently being plotted. You will also have to restart the miner AFTER the plotted file is finished for it to be included in the mining process. Congrats though, the 8TB WD drives are nice, and work great for BURST.
-
@tomahawkeer Nope, the miner knows about it, as soon as the plotter unlocks it'll be used for mining.
-
@tomahawkeer i am at work and checked in via teamviewer to see the errors dissapeared.. i will probably reboot entire computer when i get back before i start to plot again..
-
okay i lied.. i started plotting again remotely.. im so savage i couldnt help it. who needs a reboot..!?
@haitch should i reboot miner to include the new plot i am working on now or is it not worth it.
the one with errors no longer gives errors as the plotter "releases memory" it looks like it is finding deadlines and mining well.. should i reboot miner to include the newest file and get the errors until its done again?

@darindarin I purchased the same drive. Due to arrive today.
I was told to use the Xplotter in software section??
Please keep us posted. I will be trying the same later today.
Thanks

@PETENICE I am using the xplotter in the wallet plotting with my cpu (open wallet.. click "start plotting" on the bottom).. its taking a while. I started doing it in a whole single file but it felt wrong so i deleted to start smaller plots.. first plot was 2tb.. was about 24-30 hours.. second plot was 1tb and took about 12-14 hours.... this morning i started another 1tb plot and hope it can be done by the time i go to bed. GL on your project..let us know how it goes.
-
Bite the bullet, allow Xplotter to do its thing for several days. Trust me, you don't want to end up with 150TB that you are re-plotting like me to make sure that your plots are all good and optimized....
-
@darindarin I am using Xplotter as well.
Worked just fine after I formatted the HD.
Oops.
-
@darindarin I went for it all. Not sure if it was the right choice. I am at 8% plotted after 24 hours on 8tb HD
-
@PETENICE nice! .. keep us updated :)
-
@darindarin at 23% today!!!
