Does this memory cleaner shut down programs that are consuming large amounts of RAM? If yes, can you choose which ones?
Are there any risks involved with using a memory cleaner?
-
@Propagandalf It cleans the cache. No program will be shut down.
-
Could someone please explain a likely (mining) scenario where we should be using this tool?
-
@Propagandalf i used it with great sucsess wile running plot optimiser on a system with vary low ram, without it the system would lock up after around 20 -30 min of giving a waiting on ram error in the optimiser app
other than that i cant think of any reason to use it that involves burst mining
-
@Gibsalot Right, thanks! So, anyone who has low amounts of RAM should use it then, and maybe also people who for various reasons experience RAM leaks? I have 32 GB RAM, which is plenty on my system, so I don't need it I guess.
-
32GB man your system doesn't even need a swapfile until probably windows 20 haha
-
i have 4 gig's of ram lol
-
4 gigs is preetty much in the middle these days i mean 8 is usually where spwafiles can be switched off i think it gets a liitle smallish under 2 gigs?
-
i know when i ploted it was a mess everyone was telling me to run an 8192 stagger but with my 4g ram and super low budget old as dirt GPU i had to plot with a 256 stagger just to not crash the comp lol i plotted a full 8.2 TB's with that setting's

first time ever, I have 16GB and it helps me defrag the plots. I use fastcopy x64 with a 12 GB buffer to transfer a fragmented plot from one drive to another eliminating the fragments. Also great with plot optimiser. I switched the swapfile off in windows its much more responsive in windows 10 and most of the snappy GUI in this version doesnt actually mean its a responsive system. My theory is windows 7 pushed the boundaries with GPU assisted GUI for glass effects now its all slate with later versions just makes it snappy on the surface through gpu.
