Failed writefile (code = 1117)?
-
Hey, plotting going fine until I come home from work and plotting has stopped with red text saying "failed Writefile (error = 1117). Can someone elaborate on this. Is there a fix or need to wipe and replot?

@Vanquish The error message indicates some sort of error with the drive, go here http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html and download the disk utility, install and run, it will check all your drives and report any errors. Post a screen shot of the results for the drive which is giving the issue. With that information we will see exactly what the issue is.

Sorry for the quality.

@Vanquish cant see anything, to do a screenshot, press "print scrn" key on keyboard, open MS Paint and Paste.

-
@Vanquish still cannot see anything, use the "little cloud icon with the arrow" to upload a photo.

@Vanquish ok Progress!
Q. which drive were you plotting when you got the Error? In the photo you posted, just above where is says "Good" there is a little arrow, use that to select the drive you were plotting. Then maximize the windows, then do another screenshot.

@Vanquish Did you use the drive N for anything previously? Is it new?
I would reformat drive N,
(do not do a quick format as i suspect there are bad sectors, Note: it will take some time to format)
And try plotting again.

@iKnow0 yeah, it's right out the box. Ok, I will take your advice. Thanks so much for your replies, much appreciated

@iKnow0 said in Failed writefile (code = 1117)?:
Look, im having the same issue.... I arrived to 58% when plotting my 5tb hard drive... had the same error... when trying to restart the plot again Xplotter kept crashing down over and over...
Im not willing to start the plot all over again from scratch.... if you can't offer me a solution other than that then I think i will have to sell that hard drive and call it a day....

@Vanquish This page http://kb.macrium.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50130.aspx suggest to run 'chkdsk' on the drive.

@TellezMiotta Did you specify the number of nonces to plot with the -n X parameter, or leave it at zero or off all together?
If you manually calculated the number of nonces, its possible you used a value to high, and the plotter is trying to write beyond the end of your drive - this will also cause the 1117 error.
Whats the size of your drive in bytes, and the name of your plotfile ?
