NEW BURST LOGO PROPOSAL - VOTE NOW !

@sevencardz
Yes, perfect I do not criticize it to be used only that I like a little more variety

The letter "B" will be difficult when trying to use the word Burst in a headline. Like "In Burst we trust" or something similar. The spacing will be really off between the words and or the frame.
I agree the old logo needs work or thrown in a fire.
I created this awhile back for MikeMike but it was decided it didn't make the cut. The bolt is within the left side of the letter so it willl be easier to space it properly with other letters and words.
It's not refined and needs some additional work so don't use it please. As of today I don't have anything new ideas to show regarding the new logo.
I prefer this to those proposed in the voting
-
@sevencardz The current logo is the B at the top of the forum. There are different versions of it around the web, sometimes in a white circle, sometimes with a blue circle around it, sometimes accompanied by the "urst" letters after it (like on the login page of the wallet), but for example on the forum it is not the same font that is used for "urst"... There are also a few different versions of Burst shown here : https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/1722/burstcoin-media-collection-for-free-usage. You can also search for "Burstcoin" in google images and you'll see what I mean.
So the goal here is to have a real graphical uniformity. Meaning a single, understandable logo with guidelines that is used everywhere in the same way. This why I have made a complete "Burst" logo that can be used everywhere, along with the B symbol. The goal is for them to replace all the existing different designs.
We recreated a logo from scratch instead of choosing an existing one because we believe they do not feel professional and are not suitable for a cryptocurrency. But as I said in the OP, "it is impossible to be in line with the personal tastes of everyone". Though, many people dislike the current logo and we hope to reach something closer to a consensus with the one we proposed :)
@socalguy Yes we can do that, but I am not convinced it would be the best idea. Keep also in mind that in the graphic charter I included a recommended font for titles and such that keeps the overall spirit of these new designs.
-
@socalguy and @Energy I agree on that logo concept. I don't think it looks unprofessional, it has a bit of unique style, and it should not cause spacing issues if used in a font.
@Gadrah_ Great job putting all of this together. I do applaud the effort and the willingness to get community feedback!
-
@Gadrah_ I'll support whatever is the final choice.
-
@sevencardz In any case I want to criticize the work of anyone, it is a matter of taste not of professionalism
-
The BURST logo was voted on quite a while ago, and the one we have now, the one Socal posted, is the official logo...
The one on the voting looks horrible, IMO...
-
Why would we change to a MUCH WORSE looking logo? Why change at all? We took a vote on this years ago, and it is the official logo everywhere...
The one with some funky bolt coming out of the back of it looks totally amateur and ridiculous.
-
@crowetic I am totally ready to accept criticism when it is justified, but really ? It looks like 80% of the people who voted did it in favor of this "horrible", "totally amateur and ridiculous", "much worse looking" logo. I have been hearing constant criticism on the current logo since I discovered Burst less than a year ago. Just because you don't like this one does not mean it is terrible.
And why change it ? Because of the reasons I listed in my previous posts, and because we are still a young project that can afford to change its logo without prejudice in the eye of the public opinion. And because we are a community driven project... If the community expresses the desire to change then maybe you should listen to it.
-
@crowetic Wow. Nice way to encourage community engagement.
seems that more than 3/4 of the community disagrees with your assessment of Gadrah's work.
-
Yea Crow, go eat a Snicker cause you sound moody. haha

This same exact logo was voted AGAINST in the beginning, and we have an official logo already... All of the exchanges, all of the EVERYTHING has this logo, going and trying to change it now, will confuse people... this is why we voted on this IN THE BEGINNING...
This isn't gadrah's work, unless he made the one a long time ago... because this logo has already been shot down years ago. Maybe before you were here @haitch

I'm not moody, I'm annoyed that this is even a thing, and we're re-voting on a logo we already shot down years ago... and someone is trying to claim it is theirs when it isn't.
@gadrah - were you the one that made the logo years back? The one we originally voted against?
-
@crowetic Exactly, as I said in the OP I took an already existing logo and redid it on @daWallet 's demand so it is vectorized. I also modified the circle. I then did the "Burst" logo completely from scratch.

A little history about the logo we are using now: There was someone who made many proposals and there was a short discussion on bitcointalk and not even a serious poll about the current logo we use now. Many people disliked it and making jokes about balls.
Can we have some more details about the initial poll ?
-
As someone who has a website (Burstblast.site) I'm up for any new logos that the community wants to create that I can use instead of creating new ones.
However, the design of whatever I am creating is more important than the approved logo and I should be allowed to make changes as needed.
Also trends change. An old logo could be what the community likes today and didn't like two years ago.
btw, I voted against the posted logo because of some concerns I had listed in my first post.

The initial poll, was a popular vote, no official poll, but it was clear that the logo we have was the winning choice.

Well, IMO the logo is so freaking ugly, as ugly as it was the first time I saw it. The one we currently use is MUCH nicer, and very clean.
The edit that @socalguy did looks VERY nice. That should be the change, not change to some funky B with a lightning bolt tail. Because a few people say so in a poll not many people saw.
-
@crowetic By the way I do not appreciate how you insinuate I stole someone's work and appropriated it for myself. I urge you to read the whole thread more carefully. Also, what @socalguy said.
The poll is far from being closed. But right now there is a big majority who prefers this design over the current one.
I'm going to eat so I'll be back in 30min.
-
Imho, I think both look shit. But hey.. I suck at graphic design, so I can't do any better.
I do think these ones look better than the one we currently use, and I don't give a f**** if someone else decided or thinks this is ugly as f****. If you want burst to be able to always change according to the wishes of the community, it should be open to change. What better way than ask the community?
-
Design ideas change every year, and it's normal to change the logo from time to time (I don't mean we need to change it now).
At my company, we change how we present our business and change the website design (and how we present information) about every year or two, if not, it looks old.
I also like the one from @socalguy , it looks cleaner.
Conclusion: The current logo is Ugly.
