Mac Users: New to Burstcoin Wallet, Plotting & Mining

This guide might come in handy for introducing some of my Mac friends :)

@robert HI Sorry, I think my previous post was a bit confusing.
So i'm currently mining on a old Mac Pro via Vmware Fusion, i'm running the windows client in there and it works.
But I have a macbook and a mac mini which i could be mining on as well but I get an error on the macbook, hence the screenshot above.
Please let me know your thoughts or if you could guide me in any way.

@mafia07 wich Java version you have? need 8
-
@Blago Thanks
I've managed to get this working, busy moving my plots now.
I've got 1TB mining on OSX now. I do notice I get this error once in a while.
#the last line on screenshot "nonce submit not successful"
or i get an error 1007What could be causing this? Is it a setting perhaps?
-
-
@mafia07 1006 means "connection lost"
miner will try to send (if not sent) deadline, or if sent, and waiting response - just writes this info and close connection
-
@Blago Thanks for that info
I've adjusted my properties now as well, as per another user on this forum.
-
restartInterval has no effect on last version 0.4.4 anymore, your other settings are ok.
Like @Blago said, the miner can only submit to pool, but can do nothing if pool does not respond in time ... in most cases it got your deadline anyway.
-
@luxe Thanks
-
Another point ... the pools* only want your last/best deadline, so if a previous/lower deadline does not get confirmed, it is no big deal.
* only devPool wants all below a given target

Congratulation @mafia07 ! We have found another Mac Miner.

Hi Robert! I had asked you before about plotting/mining on a MacBook Pro 10.7.5 . I am currently plotting on my new PC but I would still like to make use of the MacPro if I can! Only problem...my MacBook Pro is early-mid 2007 10.7.5! and I don't see anything compatible for this Old Mac. Is there somethingout there for it? Please let me know and some advice would be appreciated! Thank you so much.

SLRX-MacBook:burstcoin-jminer-0.4.5-RELEASE sLrx$@kmntrci ok, on commandline first check your java:
java -versionif thats fine (some java8 and 64bit), go to miner folder and execute in commandline:
java -jar burstcoin-jminer-0.4.5-RELEASE.jarif that does not work , please post a screen of the error.
-
i did this and miner only works whit command that you write about java.
i get this screen i think its working but i dont know how to read this screen i mean i dont understand exactly is it working or not ???? how can i be sure ? and can u please tell me is it working or not ? and where i take a look if it is mining how much or not????

-
i get get this WARN 2272 what is this can you tell me and if it is bad can u tell me how can şi fix :) @luxe

-
@kmntrci It works fine in your first screen.
The 2nd screen error just tells you, that you could not get miningInfo in time. You could increase connectionTimeout in jminer.properties to maybe fix that. However the miner asks ever 1-2 sec. for miningInfo/new block ... if it fails from time to time it is no big deal. Just a connection issue on your/or pool side.You have a quite small plot with 127GB so you will not find a deadline in every round ... You could switch to pool with higher 'targetDeadline' to improve that ... search for it here: http://util.burst-team.us:8888
