GPU plotting slow?
-
Hi, I have Nvidia Tesla M2050, ram 16GB, Intel core i5. The fastest I can get the GPU to plot at it 9,300 nonces minutes. I'm plotting to 2 SATA III HDDs. Is this the fastest Nvidia Tesla M2050 can plot at? Thought with 1,030 GFLOPS it would plot faster then that.

@Tate-A there have been documented issues with nVidia's for plotting - problems with the OpenCL. I've personally never been able to get an nVidia plotting at all.
-
It was a pane in the but to get OpenCl to work, but I got it working. But the speed is only 1.7X the speed of a CPU. Thats slow!
-
I think I should of got a AMD GPU.
-
@Tate-A My RX470 does around 20K in direct mode.
-
@haitch you should plot my drives for me then..:) 26 hours to plot 2tb added some ram so my next plotting shouldn't take as long I hope
-
@gecox22 I'll plot them for you - but shipping time might take away the advantage ...
-
@haitch Just finish ploting a 5tb usb drive at 48 hours 5900 nounces/minute. lol
-
@AnotherDeadBody I was about 4 days into plotting an 8TB SMR drive, when it died :(
-
@haitch damn....
-
@AnotherDeadBody Yeah, plotting SMR drives sucks - once they're plotted they mine just fine, but had two refurbs die during plotting :(
-
@haitch Ouch. TCP Jesus Died for your SYns Man! In the name of the tap, the pcap, and the holy packet sniffer!
-
@AnotherDeadBody LMAO - thanks - needed that!
-
lol. i work in infosec. we have all sorts of sayings...
