The cookie project
-
@nameless Got it boss, no prob.
-
-
@nameless Love this idea. Two things however,
-
Can you look for a way for people to request someone gets a cookie other than posting in the thread. Maybe setup a dedicated thread where people can link to the post they want to get a cookie ?
-
Number of users is 2,471 as of right now :-)

Now that might just work, but it might make users reluctant because of the extra 2 clicks it takes to do so :)
I'll let you decide it. If you want to give the thread a shot, we can make it happen. Question is, where do i put it?
-
@nameless Put it in Off Topic and I'll pin it so it stays at the top.
What I'm concerned about is the "give that man a cookie" posts are going to pollute the threads. What happens if one people want to give a poster a cookie? Threads become unreadable.
I'll see if I can find a forum plugin that would help.

Oh yes, please do that. Please let me know if you can figure something out. I'll check in in the morning and see where we are. Thread pollution is indeed a potential nono

@nameless Didn't find anything that really did what we're looking for, will keep looking.
However did find this, which I'll be testing: https://github.com/NodeBB/nodebb-plugin-question-and-answer#readme

@nameless You need to start sending cookies over... my first ask mate: https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/1813/burst-lexitoshi-uk-new-pool-development-new-feature-discord-alerts/78
-
-
btw folks, what do you think a good buyback price would be? i was thinking 50-100 burst per cookie would be reasonable. ideas?
-
@nameless 100 Burst are like 0.05$ so yes looks like a good price to me xD Pricy cookies btw but they have quality due to reflect reputation ;D
-
@nameless just noticed that @Propagandalf is selling 1 point of reputation (a cookie) at 200k Burst hahaha I guess that's right, reputation is everything these days xD
-
@nameless Not yet - there's plugins for doing likes, and leadership boards based on reputation, and up/down vote managers - but nothing that really fits the Cookie Project
-
@haitch , yeah...i know. tough cookie we have here :)
but i'm sure you'll figure something out.
-
@haitch Maybe the Like system works if you change the button from "Like" to "Cookie" xD
-
@gpedro That should be doable, but would @nameless has to check every post to see if it's been cookied.
-
@haitch , @gpedro ... it could be done though... hear me out
we would just need someone to implement a string of code that when a ''like/upvote/cookie'' is detected, it sends a share to the person provided that they have their address in their signature. I've seen something similar a while ago (can't remember where) . Such a system would yet again prove the full versatility and power of BURST
-
@nameless If there is some capable of doing it, the code for the plugin is here: https://github.com/NicolasSiver/nodebb-plugin-ns-likes#readme
-
i'll ask arround
-
@nameless let me call for backups and see if someone dib it xD
@Zeus @LithStud @Lexicon @ccminer this is something hard to accomplish?
The major problem i see is when someone is chosen to receive a cookie they have to have their address somewhere and unless they have it in the profile it could be the only flaw i can see in here from the top of my head... I'm sure its more than one string of code but i don't see any big issue since your experience with the API is not so small by now ;D@haitch @nameless if you just setup the cookie button you can simply put it sending @nameless an email and if they have an address associated with the account here in the forum half the job is made from nameless... But that way you already end the Spamming posts in here and keep the same automation @nameless proposed (although i think this can easily be automated)! If we set up an easyer way to do the transfers is even better ...
