  • You can disable them in services, or if you are using wireless you can tell windows you're on a metered connection. They don't download and install automatically if you do either of these steps. These updates were a nuisance before I did this.

  • Well everyone good news / bad news time:

Bad News: the 2TB Toshiba external HDD has gone out. I am going to tinker with it and see if it's recoverable or if it's DOA, either way for now we are down 1.5TB or so of mining capacity

Good News: I have the first 4TB of the first new HDD plotted and mining with another 2TB coming online late tonight.

    Mining Capacities:

    Current Capacity - 22.5TB

    Max Capacity - 68TB

    Unplotted Capacity - 44TB

    Inactive Capacity - 2TB

  • Ok all another Update:

I now have one of the 8TB HDDs plotted and working on the second one now.

The 2TB external drive was recoverable but it's going to fail sooner rather than later so just be expecting a full failure from the 2TB.

  • Another update:

First New HDD has been plotted, second drive is halfway done. Four more drives to go!!!!

  • Update:

Today we are gathered not in sorrow but in celebration for the short but spectacular life of ASROCK x370 Taichi. ASROCK was the youngest of a large and old family of Noble motherboards, but his star definitely burned brightest.

ASROCK leaves behind a Ryzen 7 1700X CPU, two 8GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM sticks, and over 68TB of HDDs.

His remains will be committed to the great RMA in the sky, Newegg.com

While no official cause of death has been given, cryptoforensic investigators believe cause of death to be suicide by shorting.

  • @socal You really are poetic sir, rest in piece ASROCK Motherboard !

  • Addendum:

Yes the mining rigs motherboard freaking friend today no idea how or why I shut down the computer and unplugged the PSU then installed the other two HDDs in the rig and plugged the PSU back in and now the damn thing won't turn on. After three hours of troubleshooting the best I can figure is that unplugging or plugging in the PSU somehow caused a short in the motherboard and I will be RMA'ing the MoBo tomorrow.

Because all is NOT for naught, we still have the 20TB of external HDDs that have been moved back over to my laptop and are mining away.

  • Hey all, dividends have been paid today hope you all enjoy.

Still doing the RMA process for the big miner MoBo it's going to take probably a week or two before I can get it back online.

Might wanna pick up some of this asset. What are the divvies looking like?

  • @kmaxkmax with the 20TB currently mining about 2,000 Burst/week once the MoBo/CPU are replaced I can finish plotting the other 48TB sitting idle in a case with no MoBo/CPU

  • @socal Wouldnt it be better (for you as well as the asset owners...) to buy another mobo in the meantime?

I like the asset, but the x370 Taichis are selling roughly $250.- - were hardly talking about millions there.

Now, you have sitting all your rest of the HW sitting around, the Ryen plus 68 TB just doing nothing :-(

God knows how Long the RMA takes. As you are planing to expand (I hope) you could Need another Mobo sooner or later anyway.

Its the same Situation I didnt understood with the ccminer guy when he posted that hed had 100TB + sitting around doing nothing just because one of his PSUs died. And now waiting for People investing in his new Shares at 1/3 of the Price when issuing his Shares, now 3/1 against the Dollar when he released them.

Dis Guy rather have Thousands (!) of Dollar of Harddisks sitting around doing nothing instead of spending 200 bucks to get things working ASAP again (which wont be lost as he could sell the mobo/PSU for 5/7 of the Price anyway). Talking about asset issuer Quality in times when mining is still giving good/quick ROI.

So well, a 1000W PSU is roughly $ 200.-, 170 if you shop around.

If Id had 50-100 TB sitting around readily plotted or waiting Id know what to do. (which is getting this stuff working ASAP obviously).

Again this should not be understood as a personal attack or questioning your Reputation in any way - as I said I would invest into your asset more and have already done - just questioning the priorities..

  • @Marc you are correct in your question but the problem is my personal budget can't handle buying another MoBo right now and by the time I would be able to the RMA will be done (hopefully) BUT if the RMA is still ongoing by the time I can afford another MoBo then I will go ahead and just purchase one and set aside the RMA MoBo for another rig in the future.

Hopefully this satisfactorily addresses your concerns.

  • Hows the dividend looking for this week?

Edit** Never mind I see now the wallet now. You just hit block!

  • HEY EVERYONE!!!!

Sorry guys I've been locked out of the forums lmao it's been a ordeal but suffice it to say I'm back and won't forget my password again lol

The dividend for last week was paid out yesterday and I'm expecting to get the RMA replacements by Friday.

  • RMA Update:

Newegg has replaced the MoBo but they are refusing to replace the CPU and are referring me to AMD.

As I stated before, if I get the disposable income to just purchase a new CPU I will do that while waiting on AMD to process the CPU RMA.

If anyone wants to purchase some of my personal asset shares OTC to help me generate the funds to just purchase a replacement CPU instead of waiting then I am willing to work out a deal, if not then strap in everybody because we have more waiting to do, sorry.

  • @socal what CPU is it ?

  • @Gibsalot AMD Ryzen 7 1700X

  • All,

I am currently working on a deal to secure funding for a replacement CPU. I hope to have more details for you all within 24 hours.

  • Hey all I have just ordered the new CPU and I ordered next day shipping as well so the rest of the rig should be up in a 24-72 hours

  • its getting rough out here. netDIFF touching 70k now.
