Lex Pool (A rewritten pool based on uray source)
-
I have just discovered that the script will send coin to a hardcoded address.
You should comment out these line, unless you are ok of this action
bust-pool-payment.js
This is how it should look like once you commented out:
-
@Jumper
Thats the code for sending part of the mining fee to the developer (lex) for further development. Its easier to turn it off in your config file (set devfee = false)that being said, thanks for finding where it is hard coded! later I want to be able to change it still give the dev a bit, but less than 1% (as I play to run my pool at less than 1% fee :)
-
@Valareos thanks for pointing that out man. i wish people would take the time to read the post. ive edited the first one now to include this so it wont be missed. its saddened me that someone would openly call out that im a thief. then modify the code that gives me an incentive to continue working on this project. which is currently less than 25 coins per block and getting smaller each month.
the amount of headache not having my release due to ghost blocks and forks would far exceed this cost.
comments like those make me lose motivation for a project i worked on solidly for 3 months till 4 am. whilst juggling a full time job. and just shows how far some people are willing to go. i was deliberately staggering releases to this source just to test the waters. and having the risk of losing my credibility from a mistake and not just that but openly screenshotting and posting it in 2 places on the forums.
i dont know whether to drop this project or continue with it now.
-
Dont lose faith. And to be fair most people dont read past the first post anyway. unless htey looking for a specific fix to a problem.
-
@Lexicon Please continue your work - having pool code options is important.
I've commented a number of times in the other thread.
Two suggestions - document the setting in the readme, and make the donation percentage configurable.
If the pool operators decide to disable the devfee, I'll assist you with development funds.
-
@Lexicon , please don't let this die. You brought technology never seen before with this pool. A few setbacks should not be enough reason for you to give it up. You spent way to much time on it. And if anyone calls you anything except an excellent coder, please do tell them to kiss my furry ass!
-
I got a scaly ass they can kiss too
-
thanks for the support guys. @haitch whilst you were writing that i was updating the wiki for the github post to have these details. in the versoin i have on my laptop it already has the code written in for a variable fee. i just havn't got around to applying it to the public github release.
the amount of work to get anything remotely done on a pool when you have no miners is extremely difficult and what people dont understand is during that period when i was fixing ghost blocks trying to sort them out i ended up losing 2.5k coins every day or so due to it payout out on the ghost block and not having enough balance for other miners. along with the 50k burst giveaway i did to attract members. and nothing i get from the pool would even remotely cover the vps cost at this stage due to it.
all the testing i do is done on my live pool so when i have a stable release i can then put it on the public github. i do this so you guys dont have to have the headache.
if @Jumper messaged me asking about it without shooting his pistols from the hip i would of told him this and even offered to give the coins back. just send me the address and ill send them over. they probably wont total to much as its about 22.5 coins every block and i havnt seen many transactions other than my own pool and someone who set up a subscription to me to support the pool.
-
@Lexicon what if i was to offer 100k reward for damage repairs that you had to support with the ghost blocks and giveaway, as well as pledge to pay for your VPS each and every month?
You're going through an emotional stage now, and we're here for you. Let us help, let me help. I will support the cost of this pool and hosting, as well as start plotting asap and get at least 2-3 TB of my own to it (i don't mine but i'll make an exception)
Deal?
-
GOt another 1 tb drive im plotting at the moment for my wifes burstcoin, Ill redirect that to your pool when it is done :)
-
@Lexicon Good work on the updates - it'll be appreciated.
Rather than pay for a vps instance, I can host you for free - just let me know what you need in a VM.
-
@nameless im actually shocked that i just read this. if your serious buddy that would be of great support to the project man, thanks for noticing that i might of got a tad emotional i probably should get some more sleep ive been spending to much time in front of my computer and was only telling Mike a few days ago that i managed to get severe eyestrain and temporary blindness followed by a migraine from being in front of the computer 24/7. i guess it takes its toll.
@haitch i might have to accept that offer as well as the other project to do with the burst discord tipping bot is hosted currently on my laptop. and goes offline whenever i have to leave a house/room with wifi. if you can get me an ubuntu 16.04 vm spun up ill take a look see. the first month i started i had another vps provider who quoted me fast storage. when the pool was running disk usage was causing it to go horribly wrong and also found out they were load balanced. its been running smoothly on this new host for about a month with only a few small hiccups when i updated to node v6.0 i had to write in some fix's for changes to functions.
-
is http://burst.lexitoshi.uk/ your deveopment pool or your stable pool? I want to redirect mining over to it to assist in trouble shooting
-
been on Lex pool for almost 2 weeks , i like it . i love the chat thats connected to Tross pool ... i really love Tross pool's UI layout. you dont get as much info right up front like you do on a Ninja pool but it feels more fluid and streamlined...... could all be just the way it looks thou lol.
-
@Valareos its both. all my updates are done locally to the pool on my pc with just my miner mining to it. with no passphase set in the config so it cant payout. once im happy that its going to work i submit it to my live pool (address you mentioned) to see if it can handle the abuse of more than one miner. once im happy with that it goes on the list to copy to the public release
-
@Gibsalot have you seen this discord alerts yet?
discord.io/burst

-
@Lexicon saw you post about it but no have not looked at it yet , hey thats me right in the middle with a block forge :)
-
@Lexicon , get some rest and we'll pick this up tomorrow on mumble or alttech. I'll be lookin' for you :)
We'll have this fixed and funded in notime.
-
@Lexicon I can get one spun up for you easily. All the CPU and RAM you need, and SSD storage.
Need anything more than ssh access ?
-
@haitch ssh access should be fine bud. if you can get gnome desktop installed and a vnc server that would be a bonus but i should be able to set that up fine
