[ANN] Mining on Amazon Cloud

  • you do realize it says unlimited but you only actually get 100TB of space

  • @Njcfamily31907 yes they have to assign a numeric number to the drive unless mounting the drive will be impossible.

  • I don't think anyone could possibly cloud mine 100TB lol

  • @crutsy With the AWS or some similar service in google i think it's possible... I just found out about this today because coinbuster talked me about this service?! I've watched it before but i just thought that was just too expensive but now i understand better how it works and it's something really great, althought i still think that there is better ways of doing it?! It's a really expensive service but it can work and i really think that with a lot of investment you can even mine a bunch of hundreds of TB's althought the costs are high and the investment have to be significant?!

@CoinBuster i now understand what you meant for offering it as a service because i didn't saw this post before LOL
I have a glitch of a business plan for you to turn it into an asset while you have this store at the same time and i think that with some investment you can even get more plotting and upload power... Like i said to you i don't have the investment for this but i am happy to help with whatever i can... I found a AWS calculator and i get now how they work so i have to talk with you about that... So when you are in here let me know and we will talk better about this?!

@Njcfamily31907 don't ever plot directally into a cloud, even if it works it will take so much time man?! It's better to plot locally then upload it! And idk if it is only 100Tb, when you mount the clouds depending on the WebDAV they use, they can say 100Tb in there... I have a 40Gb cloud mounted that says 100Tb in there but it won't let me upload more than 40GB ofc?!

  • @gpedro Sounds great man. Ill go over with you on the EC2 fee structure in detail tomorrow. It's simple. I like to use their spot instances, which is like bidding on the price you willing to pay. Running Ubuntu on these instances in not that expensive if you have 40TB plots....Also, you wouldn't have to know anything on Linux, as I will upload a public image (which you can use as your harddrive on the instance you open) and everything will be ready for you to mine. Jminer or Uray miner, with infrastructure to mount the cloud.

  • @CoinBuster I'm sure others will want to know, as I am curious also. Care to post that information here when its compiled?

  • @CoinBuster Ok man let me know when you are here... I should be online all day?!

  • @crutsy I will post a guide with the information needed. Please let me know what's interest you, so I'll have a guideline.

@gpedro Hell no ! go to sleep dude !! its 3.30 am in the UK and I need to wake for work tomorrow. Ill pm you tomorrow at 7 pm GMT ;-)

  • @CoinBuster It's 3:30 in here too but i woke up late hahaha I'll be here at that time for sure, if i didn't reply here in the forum talk with me in the alttech ;D

  • ACD is definitely the fastest and biggest Cloud Storage I've been trying/mining so far! It works great with "Goodsync" for uploading and "Netdrive2" for mining from home. All through you'll always get an Error after uploading a big file (48Gb). But they are there after a while! Netdrive2 I had to buy after a Month.

But,.... I'm still on evaluation Period with ACD and I got locked out twice!
First time after uploading 12 and something TB and curiously at the same time my eval. Period of Netdrive2 ended!
Wrote to Support and they opened it again.
I couldn't help myself and uploaded another 1,5 TB in 24h!-/ Which made them lock the account again!-(

So you might wana be careful and not overdo it! I cant say if it was my upload speed or Disc Size I'm using and Amazon support "plays dumb" in that mater!

    Just saying
    I'm locked out!-(

  • @nixxda very interesting. I have been uploading 500Gb to 1TB a day without any problems, but just yesterday I have uploaded 1.5 TB in 12 hours. I'll let you know if my account get blocked.

  • Topic has been moved to Marketplace.

  • @CoinBuster Huiii, Amazon Support just called me!-) But i haven't got a real answer. Only thing they said is that the System detected a "unusual usage" and that they have to check with an Technician!
What they definitely dont like is if the account gets shared in any way! So be carefull with that.
On the other hand I dont really see much in their terms which would make mining illegal. Accept maybe making money from it??
I told them I'm using it for a personalized database which is as accurate as am willing to admit.
But as they tell you in their Terms and Conditions, if they dont like you in any way they are allowed to kick you without prior notice!-/

I really dont want to harm your "business" here. Especially because ACD is really (f..ing) great for Cloud mining!
But you might wanna offer only 10TB at first to stay under their radar! And you'll still make Roi

I'm offering my services as a guinea pig!-)

  • @nixxda Where are you located?

  • @nixxda I would upload 1TB at a time and give it a break for a day. Have you shared your account with anyone ?

  • I am in the Process of dumping a 1tb drive on my mac to a backup image then gonna wipe the drive and plot it then upload the file to ACD

  • @nixxda what kind of mining speeds are you getting on the cloud?

  • @CoinBuster hey what instance are you using on AWS i wanna copy your setup and start uploading 1tb plot files

  • @Njcfamily31907 You will not be able to upload files bigger than 50Gb i think... They have a limit size per file for sure, i just don't know if it is 50Gb or 100Gb but you will not be able to upload files bigger than 100Gb for sure?!

  • @Njcfamily31907 I have experiment with many instances and currently I use their free offer. It is not as fast the other ofc but I want to have 30TB before paying for the instance.
