Help with plotting 4 TB Drive
-
how can i plot with this drive fast?
and i have 2 pcs 4 TB internal hard drive. Do i have to Plot both drives? or is there a way just to copy plot files to new drives?thanks for Help! Im New Here :D
-
@xmagmax Welcome :) You can't plot one drive and copy the file to another one. You have to plot both hard drives independently.

@Gadrah_ thanks man! I have another question.
I have nvdia ge force gt 730 with 2gb and intel i3. Is there a way to increase nonces/minute.. i only get 4.1k - 4.5kAny cheap suggestion for hardware? Thanks. :)
-
@xmagmax Do you plot with CPU or GPU ? GPU plotting is faster.
-
When I plotted with my 750ti this what my setting was. (Next week I use a 950ti)
device.txt
0 0 512 256 1024Run 880 gb bat
gpuplotgenerator generate direct F:\plots\17107898157893413933_13604480_3604480_1024

@Gadrah_ im plotting with gpu. But my gpu is in 4k mark only. I created 1 tb plot file for almost 16hrs. :(
-
@Burstde hi whats your gpu specs? And im using the command buffer. Is it fast to write in direct command?
-
@xmagmax I think it's normal taking a long time if you're plotting big file.
What I'm doing with my i5 CPU & 4gb ram is only plotting small files continuously. I'm using CPU plotter (wplotter), and at the same time mining using blago. I made each plot only 10GB size, and once it plotted I moved the file to mining folder. It's taking long time and patient, but I can keep mining continuously and increase the capacity slowly. It's taking around 30 mins using my spec, plotting and optimizing, then move it to mining folder.
I tried to cut and paste from 1 drive to another, it's working nicely.

@bitko how are you naming the files without overlapping? if i plot 3x 100gb it will be 300gbs?
-
@xmagmax I check the amount of nounces created in the 1st file, and the next file will be started after that number, eg:
1st file ---> xxxxxxxxx 0 40000 40000 4000
2nd file ---> xxxxxxxx 80001 40000 4000
3rd file ----> xxxxxxxx 120002 40000 4000
-
@bitko
correct me if im wrong.
you say that
1st file ---> xxxxxxxxx 0 40000 40000 4000
2nd file ---> xxxxxxxx 80001 40000 4000
3rd file ----> xxxxxxxx 120002 40000 4000meaning my first file is from 0 - 40000
the second is 40000- 80000?
the 3rd is 80000-120000? :Dwhats the meaning of the 3rd and 4th line? :D thanks
-
You're correct.
Regarding 3rd & 4th part of file name:
40000 = approx nounces for 10GB size
4000 = RAM size assigned for plottingI usually add 1 nonces in next plotting just to make sure there's no overlapping, and to make it easier to identify the sequence of the files.
It's based on my experience using wplotter. And IDK abt GPU plotter.

@bitko 1 last question :D
how to run multiple plot files to a pool? or successive files will be read as one?
thanks man! really appreciated :)
-
@xmagmax it's gonna be read automatically by the miner, as long as we move it to the mining folder after the file has been plotted, eg: F:/Burst/plots/
This is the best way for me who have only low spec CPU but need to keep mining and plotting at the same time.

@bitko thanks dude! :)
