Are Toshiba hard drives any good?
-
@socalguy Very Good - Toshiba and HGST are my preferred brands, followed by WD.
-
@haitch I've got both a 1TB 2.5" Toshiba and a HGST and they've been great I've had both a WD and a old 4TB Hitachi (HGST now) drive die on me though but at least they lasted as long as the warranty said they would.
Seagates useless brought a brand new 2TB and it was DOA then the replacement died recently too so I decided to post it off to Singapore for warranty hopefully I get it back before Christmas and hopefully I get a certified repaired drive they seem to be pretty reliable.
-
@weaveR I bought 8 used Seagate 3TB drives - 5 of them have died on me. No more Seagate for me :(
-
@haitch
A rig like this what would be the cost ? and whats your ROI with the lowered pricing
like your info.
Cheers
Bob
-
@kendrew Which one - I have multiple rigs ?
-
@kendrew the one you have images of posted with very dusty :)
-
@kendrew Motherboard, CPU, GPU PSU I already had - added, 6 * 6TB drives + 2 (already owned ) 3 TB drives - so case + 6 * 6TB drives - approx $1K.
-
@haitch I had 2 new 320GB Seagates die on me too that were still under warrenty ages ago but 5/8 drives dieing is pretty bad.
