@all I'm giving a highly endorsed verification of Socal.
Initially I was going to give him a provisional status, but the quality and quantity of ID, I'll verify him - 100% and then I read his assessments while deployed: National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Service Medal - SoCal is a Soldier that protected everyone of us, I give him 110% of my support
I don't have the paper copies yet - either Christmas mail has held it up or it got lost, but Socal has sent me ID info that I have no doubt about his identity. He is who is he claims to be - but based on my standards, I still want those paper copies, but dam - this guy is the best of all of us.
I have his drivers license, passport, bank statement and Honorary Military Discharge papers. I haven't got the paper copies, but the digital copies I have, documents that have not not been altered - and I have more verification documents than any other individual that been has verified, and he's a (I feel like an asshole for saying this) to be verified veteran. Thanks for the service, and the requirement is for the formal process.
But you can trust this user, I have the ID Docs, I'll still be asking for copies for my filing drawer - but 100% verified.

I have been seeing this a lot but am a little confused. What are you doing here, are you making a database of peoples information so you can expose them in a result of "Fraud". Are you sharing all the information of yourself that you're asking for from others? I'm asking because passports, Id's,bank statements, and discharge papers are enough to open a credit card account and max it out leaving the person with all the debt and responsibility.
Pardon my directness, but I hope you understand my concern.

@AngryChicken When he launched this idea I asked him to provide to me his ID as well and he agreed immediatly and send them to me, after that I did the same!
-
I like the idea. This will bring the community to one step ahead in my opinion. :)
-
@AngryChicken I'm getting paper/electronic copies of peoples verifiable ID's, so that yes, in the event of a fraud I can release their real life ID's. However I never expect to have to do that - someone willing to provide me with verifiable identity info would be crazy to commit fraud in this community. With the way the process works, envelope to them, envelope back to me, they also learn my real name and address. For those that have asked I've provided additional ID. There is no database, there are bunch of photocopies of ID documents, that wouldn't be sufficient to open CC's - I don't look like any of these people, with their forum names on them, sitting in a filing cabinet. I realize the remote possibility of identity theft, but given that other senior members, and the ID verification people that have asked, have all my details as well - that's simply not going to happen.
-
@AngryChicken Just realized by your post that i should had the @haitch ID to so i asked him and he imediately send it to me by e-mail... Ofc that every data matched with what was in the envelope before?!
Just wanted to let you guys know about the full transparency he have been working this system and in fact that he always been doing with everything he get involved around here ;DBTW i just added my phone number and facebook account to my DOX list in case anything happens to me and i don't have access to internet for sometime and people start getting worried, @haitch can always contact me by phone, see what's been happening with me and let you guys know if for some reason i can't?! This only should happen if i am at the hospital or something (knocking on wood...)!
-
@AngryChicken and just to add, based on your post @gpedro asked for additional ID - he now has a copy of my drivers license and Green Card, has my verified phone number, and my facebook account. We had a good talk on FB messenger. The ID verification is a two way street - you prove to me who you are, and I'll prove to you who I am.
-
@haitch I see well that's a neat concept your working with. Good luck hope all goes well.
-
-
@haitch Why no P.O. boxes? You will have my identity anyway. Is there like a half verification token then or something?
-
@kmaxkmax For the ID Verification, I need to be able to link a physical address to your ID, and a PO Box is not sufficient.
Now if you can give me docs that link your photo ID to a street address, and that street address to the PO Box (eg, an agreement for the PO Box that shows the PO Box and physical address) then I'll accept that. Easiest way though is just give me a street address and have a matching ID. Without some link between you and a physical address someone could, for example: Open a PO Box, get "verified" with no proof that the ID matches you, sell a scam asset for 20M Burst, close the PO Box, and you're anonymous again. Without that link between ID and address, the verification is meaningless and worthless.
-
@haitch So you would need to send an ID that says your address on it to get verified.
-
@kmaxkmax Yep. The whole point of the ID Verification is that if someone scams the community, I can then say:
User: JSmith is actually John Smith, living at 123 Main St, Some Town, Some State.
Saying JSmith claims to be JSmith and he once owned PO Box 123, Some Town, Some State is not useful.
-
@haitch Interim Verification for BitDV - he's sent me ID that matches the name/address he gave me, a photo of him with his matching his ID, but the envelope has gone astray between the USA and his home - another one going out to confirm, but everything I've seem makes me willing to give him the interim OK.
