Plotting on one PC, then mining on another
-
Hey everyone,
I am getting in to mining, (~270GB right now) and was wondering if I could plot a drive with my gpu on my main PC, then mine with it on my spare computer? Or are the plot files specific to one computer. Just wanted to plot some larger drives more quickly.Thanks,

@Xander52 I'm sure you can!

@ccminer thanks. I plan to start up with a few TB drives soon. My gpu is a GTX 950 so it should plot much faster then my old extra pc.
-
@Xander52 you are right GPU plotting is faster than cpu
-
Does GPU only help with plotting or with mining as well?

@WealthSmith Worth remembering that there are fast & slow CPU's and GPU's. I have a i7-4790K processor running at 4.4GHZ with 32GB of Ram and using 8 Cores it will plot at about the same speed as my Radeon R9-290X.
However yes generally a GPU will be faster plotting and Mining than a CPU. On my PC I tend to use the CPU for Mining while the GPU is simultaneously plotting a drive. Best thing to do is to experiment and see what works best for you.
