How to make first transaction to activate new wallet?
-
So title says all :)
i am making new wallet for my project and would like to send test amount of bursts to it from my current wallet with encrypted message attached to it.For the life of me i cant understand where should i put in that public key in "Send BURST" window o_O
-
@LithStud I just send some Burst to the new wallet and then send some back and that seems to get everything going.

@RichBC hmm thats the problem :D wallet doesnt let me send burst to new wallet without inputing its public key :D
-
@LithStud The public key is not the address? Maybe I've lost some passages ???
-
@ccminer should i enter public key instead of BURST address for my firs transaction? That what confuses me as there is no clear indication in wallet how this first activation works. I could activate using faucet, but thats besides the point, i want to activate using existing wallet and tools that any new member has access to.
-
@LithStud The public key IS your burst address.
At least with Bitcoin is like this
-
well Burst has these three things :D
account ID: BURST-YEXV-TJ9K-MGC8-C96AP
numeric ID: 12294976293218235323
public key: d9820979641eb578a91d25ad0a060419cf77d2334d889a39bed610cb1bc73b2bi guess i will just try to enter public key and see what happens
EDIT: nope recipient must be account id or numeric i guess
-
@LithStud Sorry for my useless reply to your issue :(
Glad you solved :)
-
@ccminer nope :) still havent activated :) gonna wait for someone to teach me how to do that without using faucets :)
-
@LithStud I activated my first wallet by giving a name to it and paynf 1 burst fee for it
-
@LithStud
get some and send some, then your activated!
-
you guys not listening to me :) the problem IS GETTING THOSE FIRST BURST.
When you create a wallet its empty, so lets say a friend (or in this case myself from other wallet) sends BURST, but where does he inputs that public key that is required for first time. And as i said not using faucets or exchanges. Just from wallet to wallet.
-
@LithStud We are listening :-) However in my case I have just entered the BURST address of the new wallet and sent. There has been a warning about the new wallet not having a public key, but the BURST has been sent.

@LithStud Which wallet are you using?
-
@RichBC trying out online wallet
-
@LithStud I have just tested sending from the Online Wallet to a new burst account. Got a message that there was not yet a Public key but no problem in sending.

@RichBC hmm it might be because i want to send a message as well. Gonna try without message.
EDIT: and indeed the message doesnt let you send burst to new account o_O now that is strange
