Network stuck on Block 289762 ?

@Han-Solo Just got Home after a 4 Hour Drive and the network is still down.... Tross Pool looks ok, but of course cannot get the Reward Assignment to go through. Someone needs to find a solution to this sort of problem.... Please....

@RichBC It is solved. Burstcoin.biz and my own wallet are on 839 and rising.
Some pools agree. Not all are working yet.Edit: To prevent that in the future we need:
- better pool software: 2 people are working on this separately
- more pools on different locations / machines: We are on the right track here.
- More Solo miners: They had some extra gains the last hours! It is worth to go solo.
-
@daWallet Yes agreed on your points. Network just seems to be recovering here, always seems to work that when I eventually do a Reward assignment that things get sorted :-) Now I need to change back.
I must try Solo one day, but have spent all my time on Pools and my calcs always show that with my TB I am better off on a Pool. I need to work out what to set in jminer to get it going solo, but another concern is that I have a poor internet connection and I assume I must have a good local wallet running for Solo to worK?

@daWallet Most of the pools are in different locations. Yes, I have a number at my colo, but looking at the largest pools, ninja, burst-team, tross, mining-club, italian, .de are all in disparate locations/continents. Whatever happened overnight wasn't down to the pools being colocated. It was something in the blockchain that blew up - and I've had one member let me know they did something that might have caused the issue.
-
@RichBC For solo mining, I suggest you also to run the observer, it can email you if your wallet is forked :)
-
@Dario's-wallet So just up in the UK, ninja was up and running so did a Reward Assignment, at which point ninja became unavailable..... So now waiting to get back to Tross...
I will try Solo, however my concern is since these latest problems cannot get my Local Wallet to run, so do not think I would be Solo Mining either?

@RichBC
Did you delete your Database and downloaded a new one? https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/45/burst-blockchain-ddl-updated-regular-every-24h-zipped
-
@nixxda Thanks will try it but concerned that the download may not be up to date following the network problems?
Wallets in a right mess here. Online is stuck at Block 28901 and the Local Wallet now just constantly gives the "Your local wallet hasn't started yet. It can take up to 10 minutes to start up. Try it again later." message.

@RichBC Downloading a new Database worked for me yesterday! (which is about 18 hours ago)
Block 28901 wasn't the Block where it got stuck yesterday. But I also had to reinstall the wallet once where it got stuck at the loading screen.

So anything about the networks problems? My local wallet got stuck at 289something block and doesnt even try to download new blocks. Some command to rescan blockchain would be real usefull in wallet (its frikin annoying to download over 2GB file)

Yes agreed particularly with my dodgy 1Mb/s Internet connection.... Surely there should be a way of automatically or manually telling it where your blockchain is ok to?

Download it one time to solve your stucked wallet, then do a copy of your burst DB folder time to time, it will help you a lot in case of problems...

Any news on what caused the blow up? Hope it's not possible for someone to "do something" which can cause this much havoc?

If you feel that a pool you are currently mining at has a issue, you could always switch to another pool until issue is solved ...
You can always use:
http://util.burst-team.us:8888
or
https://monitor.burst-team.us
To see witch pools are still OK.Sadly i do not know what caused the issue yesterday ... but i noticed that wallets running on machines with low memory had the issue ... my local wallet for example had no issue.

My problem is that I am often not at home to edit the properties file and restart the Miner. Will have to set up remote access to allow this. Would also be great if there was a mechanism that would allow auto switching, as with Bitcoin, when a Pool goes down?
Have also sometimes found that when the network is in a mess you cannot get a Reward Assignment to go through?
