Cool Thread!
-
My work for the last month has been insane - so I took today of for some "me" time. And what did I do with my me time - I cooked salsa of course! :D
12 Pints of Mild, pretty much the same Mild, reviewed above "The salsa was pleasant and the flavors started to consume my mouth. I could taste the hickory and all the other flavors. The heat was there but wasn't incredibly hot. I can tell Haitch likes his hickory as I ate another chip with salsa. Overall, the mild version was great and I think it will go well with some bbq ribs or chicken. " - this one is hickory free. Mild contains no exotic chilies, nothing stronger than a Jalapeno - but lots of them.
15 Pints of "Loco" - Loco is Mild + a whole bunch of exotic chilies, Loco makes "Not Mild" - "Eating the third and biggest scoop of salsa probably wasn't the best decision I made today. As I began to eat the combo, a wave of what felt like wasps began to sting my mouth. I actually start coughing which took me by surprise. Damn this was hot salsa but it wasn't as bad as I made it out in my head. Maybe I overhyped it in my head too much. I thought it would be like spraying pepper spray in my mouth but that never happened." - look mild. This is pepper spraying your mouth, the first 10 seconds or so you get all the flavors, and then you get the heat, and more heat, and then more heat, and then ALL the heat - I love really hot stuff, but this stuff makes my hair sweat, the pain from my grazed elbows, knees and split forehead disappear ... there is only one thing you are aware of, and that's the flavors and the HEAT.
0.5 Pint of "Kitsune Special Edition". Loco is extremely hot, and then there is Kit's Special Edition. This Special Edition elevates heat to the highest level - I can probably make something hotter, but it'll take effort. Let's all be thankful that only 1/2 pint of this stuff exists on the planet. Kit - Enjoy this on your Ramen!! Megz - so sorry :(
Mild and Loco (and the original "Not Mild") are all available for 25,000 Burst shipped (Shipping costs me $10 - $18 depending on your state, so pretty much the Salsa is free but you're paying shipping) Look for a review of Loco from SocalGuy soon - a complimentary jar will be heading his way as thanks for his awesome review of the originals.

Would love to place an order for some of the hottest please ! do you ship north?!
-
@dagentlemang How far North? - if out of country there may be additional shipping charges. Two pints to Canada was $36 in shipping :( WTF happened with US shipping costs? I used to be able to send 2x Quart jars to NZ for $20 - now its over $100 :'(
-
@haitch i am your canadian neighbor , and i don't mind the shipping charges, when you pay for superior product . I think my mexican buddies will enjoy it
-
-
@chyna88 LOL - I like !!
-
@haitch As to not hijack the other thread about this, your salsa sounds damn delicious. Sadly, I don't have the Burst, and I don't think it is possible to get in a timely manner when mining with .5tb. That said, I think that this would be hell for me, as I've tried some Ghost Pepper salsa and have some Paqui Scary Ghost Pepper chips in the kitchen that have been sitting for quite a while. If I ever get enough Burst, I'll get back to you about getting some of your salsa.
Side note: Has anyone done the video challenge yet?
-
So interested, but in another country, shipping is probably more expensive than the salsa hahaha
-
@kohai unfortunately you're probably right - unless it Canada, it's probably not worth it.

Here is my review on the biohazard salsa, it is one step below OMFG KILL ME NOW, my face was on fire, i would suggest sour cream with it, but as for flavor, very deep and almost smoky, not bright and bitter like most noob salsa, i ate the last of my biohazard thismorning on a baked potato with sour cream, delicious, although have a cup of milk on hand, youll need it, 4.7 out of 5, and far the best i've had home made, I will be back for more.
-
@haitch i will research the mild version now.
-
Which reminds me, know where one can purchase habanero seeds for planting?
-
@kohai I get mine from here: http://www.chileplants.com/
-
@KitsuneKitten Just wait for "Loco" and your special edition .......... :D
-
@haitch ugh, no international shipping, o well, might as well gamble with ebay seeds
-
Kit's review on "mild" salsa as as follows: still has a bite to it, but it's something i'd give to family and friends in SMALL doses, probably not children, ill upload a pic soon of what i made with it. again, have a cup of milk handy. it's brighter and less smokey than the biohazard, which is ok, both are well prepared and quite addicting, but use sparingly or youll be on the porcelain god the rest of the day =D with volcanic fire flowing from your nether regions. enjoy!

All this salsa makes my mouth water but at the same time I know it would kill me haha
-
@Gadrah_ I've not killed anyone yet ...... :waves to kit: ......
