Burst Client for Windows v0.3.9 - All in One: Wallet, Plotting & Mining
-
Hi @daWallet,
Could you please add TomPool to the pools list? The Uray interface is at http://mining.tompool.org:82 and mining is on port 8124 @ http://mining.tompool.org. Support is through http://tompool.org or the forums at http://forum.tompool.org.
Cheers,
Tommo.

Hello, as I am sure you can tell I am new to the forum. I found out about BURST from Adams video and have been very excited to start. Unfortunately it has been one hurdle after another. What I am wondering, is there a way to change the directory that the the burst_bd resides in? I would like to store the file on an external drive because I do not have enough room on the laptops HD to have the file. It was downloading the database over night but stopped due to low HD space.

@CaveManJoe29 then use the portable version. You can find it on github, website and sourceforge.
-
I have done this by making a symlink to another location. Works like a charm.
In a command window you could type this:
ren %appdata%\BurstWallet\burst_db %appdata%\BurstWallet\burst_blockchain mklink /J %appdata%\BurstWallet\burst_db "D:\Data\Crypto\Burst\Blockchain" copy %appdata%\BurstWallet\burst_blockchain\*.* %appdata%\BurstWallet\burst_db\*.* rmdir %appdata%\BurstWallet\burst_blockchainIt renames the current directory holding the blockchain to burst_blockchain,
then creates a symbolic link named bust/db pointing to "D:\Data\Crypto\Burst\Blockchain" (enter your path on another disk here),
then copies the files from the renamed directory to the location used by the symlink,
then deletes the empty burst_bloackchain folderEnjoy your free space on your system drive :)

To update just run the install. You don't have to de-install the old version. Update is not obligatory.
-
@daWallet what is the expert mode?
-
@jervis choose stagger, choose start nonce and async mode.
-
@daWallet wow! Finally. That is a really great help. Thanks a lot.

Someone give this man a cookie! He deserves it!

Hey guys, how is the version 0.3.6 doing? How is expert mode?
I learned that no feedback is a good sign but I need some to improve the software. :P
-
the only bug i have is the plotter window doesnt scale properly when i first open it i get this

and have to mnually resize it
and when i click expert mode it grows slightly but not enough to reveal the stagger size box fully
other than that no problems thus far
-
@Lexicon Good that I asked! I have to test it on different resolutions. Interesting.
-
@daWallet its always good to ask a question. i was going to make a post about it the first day i started using it but i didn't see it as a big issue. my screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 in case you wanted to know :)
-
@daWallet 0.3.6 is running smooth for me, no problem. However, my screen resolution is rather not common (1440x900) and even when the wallet is in full screen I can't access every link on the left side. In full screen, the lowest I have is "blocks" but I can't click on "peers" (the only one below if I'm not mistaken).
-
@daWallet Also, something I noticed thanks to @jervis when he posted a screenshot of the wallet of his pool :
@jervis said in N.E.W.S. Pool is now Live! (NEWS Asset Mining Pool Project):
I don't know why but my "forged balance" shows 0 and has always been showing 0, even thought I have forged 18 blocks in total :
-
@Gadrah_ I think that "Forged balance" counter only counts when you are mining solo... Or when you are a pool because you need to have the reward assignment for your own address in both cases i think xD
-
@gpedro Oh that would make sense. Thank you !
