How is this possible
-
275824 Y4DE-RKZZ-F987-9UWUA w/ D = 3 mins, 45 secs
Best deadline = 203 by 17599806374911917738
block 275824 time stamp 2016-09-21 02:47:59
I use dimension 4 and am never more than half second off world time. It checks every five minutes.
So how is it a miner with a time 8 sec after our pool wins the block. I seen this many times!
-
@tross To the best of my understanding - which is not perfect - the first to get the required number of confirms that theirs is the best deadline wins.
-
Since the pool that won is hidden from my view its hard to compare my pool to theirs. Meaning looking at my miner and that pool too so I could see if they start mining way ahead of my pool. I look at the observer for a while I see each pool start on the new block at the same time. Like I said my computer is sync to world time (right now someplace in Canada) Is it possible to make pool code to give you a jump start on the other pools.
-
@tross For the blockex BURST-Y4DE-RKZZ-F987-9UWUA mine block 275824 in 3.28min, it means a deadline of 197 = 3min 17secs...
-
@Dario's-wallet this was copied rom a Ninja type pool
275824 Y4DE-RKZZ-F987-9UWUA w/ D = 3 mins, 45 secs
So something weird somewhere lol if it was really 3 min 17 then yes he won!
-
@tross I will also add http://burstcoin.biz/block/16995904870087239159 says 3 min 28 sec which is 5 sec slower than my pool so still strange lol
-
@tross No jump start possible. Pool starts mining a block when it receives notification via it's wallet of a new block, and all wallets should get the message at the same time.
-
@tross The times displayed on the pool are how long into the round a winner was found and the pool notified. If Ninjas wallet was slow to notify, or if it's time is off, then there will be discrepancies. If you look at the times for any block across all the pools there's normally variations.
-
@haitch I seen that watching the observer a couple times. So either that pool is 5sec ahead or mine 5 sec behind??
I seen this a couple times last couple months but never really looked into it.
-
@tross Ninja was off - I've changed it.
-
@tross Probably what happened in this block is that BURST-Y4DE-RKZZ-F987-9UWUA sent a deadline to ninja of 197 (3.28min you can read in http://burstcoin.biz/block/16995904870087239159 is not 3min 28secs, it's 3.28*60=197=3min 17secs: it use decimal numbers; look at the next block, 275824, it was founded in 8.78 minutes...), he won the block then, as @haitch explained, the ninja wallet delayed to notify the block in the "recent block" list, a late of 27 secs (3min45secs - 3min17secs). This should explain the discrepancy...
