@nameless Not to get too side tracked but what is your opinion on the bond market right now?
I'll do a short side track :)
Bond markets are shit, always have and always will. Unless you're into junk bonds (look those up) . Those are awesome but dangerous tools to trade.
If you want a steady increase with decent returns just buy into indexes like sp500 or the more affordable russell 2000. For that matter, any index that has been around for more than 30 years. There's no losing with those. Even if they have a streak of a few bad years, they always come back on top. There's a reason why all wall street hedge funds are trying to beat the indexes, and fail miserably.
Oh and the main reason i'm against bonds is their growth rate. They barely pay a fraction of the inflation increase. Overall people are actually losing money because the dollar you invested today, is worth less next year due to inflation. And bonds investments don't help at all on the matter.
And regarding junk bonds, my very best investment in those was a company called Nordic Shipholding. A Danish-Swedish company on the brink of complete bankruptcy back in 2014. I bought a ton of their shares and bonds and sold out half a year later at 3000% :)

@nameless Always learning with you man?! xD
-
@gpedro always happy to help :) . I don't want to grow old and rich alone.
-
Although most of the time I don't understand what @nameless is saying, I'm trying to pay attention to this guy. Thanks man. You are like dumping a gazillagig of information in my 256mb brain. :)
-
@jervis Worry not about the 256 MB :) . I feel the same when i see advanced coding and tech discussions. And i'm sorry if i make it sound so complicated. It makes so much sense in my head :) . Maybe we should start a basic finance thread here. Educate people on what inflation is, what the FED is, etc... I think i could pitch in and try to explain things as simple as i possibly can. Would anyone care for such a thing?

Me and my big mouth... :P
It shall be done! We will have a finance 101 section somewhere. Not sure where and how to structure it yet, but i'll figure something out. Stay tuned.
-
@nameless you can start a webinar of some sort. or a youtube video would be nice too. :)
-
@jervis not quite sure what i would say in a webinar :) . I haven't thought that far ahead. And as far as youtube videos go... again, no clue what the point would be.
What i would like to to is tackle every important investing and general economics topic i can think of and explain them in a loose language so that everybody understands. I tend to be good at that. You'll see. I want to get into stuff like what a stock/asset is, how the markets work, what is inflation, why bonds are shit, what junk bonds are, etc. I'm a bit busy these days but i'll get in touch with @luxe and see if we can dedicate a thread to such things. It would benefit everyone so i'm sure we can find a way.
-
@nameless i could see something like a glossary and maybe you could give some good tips of how to read a chart... i would like to understand how to read resistances and meanings of the candles, and things like that. Maybe you would put in me the bug of trading and i have to buy a course about it to understand all the things that i want to know about it xD
I hate to know that i have the information under my nose and i can't read them xD
