New here hoping to use my simple decent laptop to start out.

I think Adam forgot to mention the setting of the reward assignment BEFORE starting to mine...
You can do it WITHOUT syncing the blockchain here...
-
@Randomtraveler The web wallet hiccuped, is back up now. Sorry for the interruption.
H.
-
@haitch not only did it hiccup but it took my account away I have the main account that has no name but not only that faucet I not letting me confirm my account either. I thought it was Laptop o I restarted but now I am square one without the 5 bursts points and no name account.
-
@Randomtraveler - no, my wallet crashing can't affect your account - the account exists on the blockchain and is immutable by an individual wallet. Your account existed, therefore it will always exist and have the same balance whether my copy of the wallet is up or down. Are you sure looking at the correct account, and not the one that had some extra whitespace?
H.
-
@haitch I really don't know now. I remember I had one account that kept saying error on the minning because it was a second account with all the spaces in every word in the passphrase. I took everysingle space out entered it and got the no name account. I went to faucet with this account having no space in passphrase and got my 5 burst points that was earlier today. I come hom enow everything is own and with the same passphrase no spaces I am back to no name no points but I go to faucet keeps saying it cant proceed. I will show you a scrn prnt after this reply.

-
Ok weird even though I had this done, I just now got thru facuet process of getting my initial 5 burst again so Im redoing the account.
-
well that didn't work I logout of my wallet and again says I have no transactions made ever o bursts and the no name account again. What is going on seriously.
-
@Randomtraveler - login to the webwallet using each of your pass phrases - with and without internal whitespace, also check for leading/trailing white space. Then click on burst address in the top left side , and select the option to copy the numeric address. Then paste that address into Notepad.
If the address does not begin with 142079809 .... then it's the wrong pass-phrase.
Your pass-phrase determines your burst address, and if it's not exactly identical to your original pass-phrase you're looking at the wrong account.

ok yes the numeric address starts with those numbers when I copied to the notepad. My passphrase however is a bunch of random words.
-
@Randomtraveler - then that is the account you're mining with, and where your payouts and actions will show up.
The account number is derived from the pass-phrase, the random words, if there is any variation on the pass-phrase, eg a leading/trailing space, a tab, a new line character, you're looking at a completely different account.
-
I noticed this. But when I repeat the no space anywhere in the passphrase account it always shows as a new entire account. Ok btw what do I do with the numeric ID?
-
@Randomtraveler , with the numeric account ID nothing - but the passphrase that corresponds to it, that is your identity - do name changes, set reward assignments, etc - that's your "real" account.
-
Well Imma see about all this hoping for the best but I cant right now since the wallet is down for a long time this time.
-
@haitch truly lost doing the set the assignement thing for the rewards. I am on the https://wallet.burst-team.us:8125/rewardassignment.html page and I don't get it, what do I put where? Luxe had mention this before but I am a bit confused -> You always have to set the reward assignment, to the pool, you are currently mining at.
(on change pool ... change reward assignment needed!)You can always use e.g. http://localhost:8125/rewardassignment.html to change your reward assignment.
(Or online https://wallet.burst-team.us:8125/rewardassignment.html)
In your case 'Set reward assigment' to BURST-32TT-TSAC-HTKW-CC26C like the miner tells you.NOTICE: it takes 4 blocks, until reward assignment is set.
-
This page has 3 different functions, you will only need the 3rd.
3
-> 'Set reward recipient' !
Passphrase -> Enter your Passphrase (Your Login to Wallet)
Recipient -> Enter the AccountID of your choosen Pool (e.g. BURST-32TT-TSAC-HTKW-CC26C)
Click on Submit and wait for 4 blocks.Just to understand, you passphrase leads to your burst address, so you do not have to specify that.
1
If you want to know your current reward assignment .... thats what function 1 is for.
2
With function 2, you can check a account for its reward assignments, so if you enter a pool account,
all the miner accounts will show up.
-
@luxe Went there and did step 3 ( I presume that is what I had to do only) well I put my passphrase that lets me log in into the wallet top and my burst ID buttom and clicked submit. I was taken to this page with a bunch of numbers and all of them went o the right. I did see the blocks area on the wallet and figured the last ones made where the 4 I needed to wait for sicne I cant really tell. in any case inmidiately after that I went to start mining and still says my account is not the same one to the other so I closed the miner.
-
@luxe Yea I even now just tried changing my rewards assignment when you go into minning I even used up the last burst I had for that I followed the instruction changed it and started minning and still says error does not match and I have checked over and over to make sure I am using the same account not getting it mixed up with any other. IDK what im missing starting to feel like this wont be happening at all for me.
-
HI guys. I'm new here. I have a problem with my wallet address. I accidentally closed the browser of the burst wallet, when I opened it again with my phrase another account ID or address came. What happened? What about the funding I got in the previous account?
-
@belijone - double check you don't have a leading or trailing space or newline on the pass-phrase, that will cause you to be looking at a different account - the phrase must be EXACTLY as entered the first time.
