@haitch We can talk about, but i'm dev, no admin ... not sure if i'm capable doing that kind of things.
@Energy and @all the pools are not down, they're still mining - probably 95% - 99% of submissions are processed. It's the dynamic update of the display that's being attacked. Do a refresh of the pool and you'll see successful submissions for every round, and the pools winning round.
Again the pools are not down, your ability to get visual stats is, but mining is mostly not affected. Your perception and confidence in the Pools is what is being attacked.
RE: Is pool.burstcoin.eu down
@batonkill No problem - I was probably being a little sensitive there - apologies.
I am looking for people I can trust to have access, but given that access to one server behind the firewall gives them unrestricted access to ALL the servers behind the firewall, and root level access to some of them - it requires a very high level of trust.
@Luxe is one I would, and already have permitted, but haven't asked him if he's willing to be a backup pool manager.
Others are being considered as well.
As far as I can tell, the visual issues on the pools, as they continue to mine, and in many cases, very successfully mine, are down to the DDoS attacks.
The pools use two aspects of the http protocol - Get/Post and WebSockets.
GET is used to get current mining info, or the static content of the pools.
POST is used to submit deadlines.
They for the most part are working. As I said, the pools are successfully mining so GET/POST is working. The static display of the pool means you got the "GET" data, but can't get the updates. The gateway timeout is simply the system being overwhelmed by the intensity of the attack.
The issue is with the dynamic content on the pool displays - that is what is getting disrupted by the DDoS
Websockets get setup so rather than you having to keep polling the pool for new info, the pool pushes it you - way more efficient, but apparently more easily disrupted. When I get home I'll be looking at making that part more resilient.
Some of the .EU issues are already being addressed another way, that I'm not willing to discuss.
I'll just end with saying I find it rather enlightening that now that Crow has split from Adam, his pool is having the same problems mine have been having ....
RE: 95% Assets Seems Scams or Handled with Selfishness and Unmaturity is their Any Drastic Change required in Asset Exchange?
@Hyzi0 Sorry, that wasn't intended for you, it was intended for whoever made the assertion I intended to quote - it had been a LONG day. My Apologies.
RE: error after installing wallet
@jrdevanir For ubuntu https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/3792/installing-wallet-on-ubuntu (it is version 1.2.8 now) ... for windows just download from https://github.com/de-luxe/burstcoin-jminer/releases, ensure java8 is installed on your system and start the included run.bat ...
For more info maybe be more specific on what your problem is ...
